Right now Im making 80%Kinetic with 58%base armor with kinda high enc, and these are the stats on my components:

Layers: i get 8%kin layers and a 2% base, and put the rest in the ham wich results in a 9.9.9 ham.

Segments: i concentrate on base wich gives me a 24% base and the rest i put in the ham (39.39.39) or something, dont remember the kinetic... i get 80% on the armor anyway.

Armor: Max out the base and put the rest in ham.....

and i wannaAIM for a 67-68% baseso i can slice it really high, and i know... its all about the resources but is there anything i can do different with what i have?

And i know i can use some janta hide. got some 5% hides to try with too... but i still need 5% more base than im getting now.

Another question:

The ackley hides... they cant be used in comp armor can they? and what is the going price on those(just about)?

If you want yourbase higher you will need to experiment more in that area and less in others. For example you are making 8/4% segments with 9 HAM. So you must have been experimenting about 4 points in kinetic and the rest in HAM. Your choice is to use some less on are to raise the base up. I know AS's that use 4/4% segmetns and still hit 80% kinetic. I cannot do that, i need my kinetic to be 6% on each segment (not sure why as i use the exact materials others use, but i just cannot seem to get it to work like they can,,,,,and i have spent days trying)

Anyway, by saving 2 points there, and one or two less points in HAM you can get the segmenet to 6/3% with about a 10 HAM. This will raise your base up.

Really good AS's like Andymantium and Cuervo can create armor that is 80% kineitc 70% base and still can manage to lower the HAM. I am not so lucky, as it appears neither are you. So you just need to decide what your customers want.

I generally make mine 80/69% and don't worry about the HAM. I have sold over 500 suits and have had only one complaint about the HAM, to which i offered a full refund, but he never replied back, just badmouthed me all over about it. No...not bitter.....

So you put no points into ham at all on the layers? Wouldn't that end up being like a 1000 ham suit?

Step 1) Remake your kinetic layers. Get them so you have 2% base, 1-1-1 HAM, and 6% Kinetic (You WILL be able to hit 80% Kinetic still, trust me)

Step 2) Your composite segments. Put points into Base until your segments are at least 25% Base..Throw the rest into Durability.

Step 3) On the final experimentation (the piece of armor itself) Put your exp. pts into Base (If you used 25% segs your base should fall into the 60-61% with good resources). As you raise the base, your kinetic protection will go up as well. Put the remaining 3 or 4 pts into Durability. You will have nicely rounded 80% Kinetic, 61% base, 500ish Ham armor. If you are not a 12 point armorsmith, then your HAMs will be a bit higher.

Wow! I am glad I read this before I do my next run of PvE armor! I was going to start my minetic layer runs today.

The kinetic layers I was doing were 2% base 10% kinetic at 10/10/10.

Update- Played around with this in the middle of this post. I found I had to triple layer with 2%/6% layers. The double layered fell short of 80% kinetic by 4%. The nice thing was... with the triple layered comp, I hit 61%/80%kin with pretty nice HAM costs (got a marginal success on encumbrance on one of the layers). Although, I think I hit a similiar double layering with even lower HAM costs. Those were the 2%/10% kinetic layers. I plan to play around with this a little more before I go into full production. If I can hit 60/80 with low HAM costs by double layering... that would rock! I wonder if I can do 1 layer at like 2%/8% then another layer that I just experiment on base 3-4%/4% kin. Any thoughts?

comes down to your resorces by the looks of it there not very good

i can hit 80% kinetic with 4% kinetic layers

2% base layers generaly get me 63% base suits

3% base layers get me 67% base comp this is the stuff i been makeing latley i see no point in going higher the cost in weight vrs the extra% resists is just not worth it imo

scrounge around for better resorces and you will be making light as armour with respectable base resists
