I was repairing my armor and got failed reparation on one of my bracers. Of course that with +10 1-hand accuracy and +5 1-h speed lol. Just my luck.
But to my surprise condition was 1/1 and resists is like it was at full condition. This was before the pacth so I continued to use it since it would still give my the bonus form the AAs. Guessed it would become unequippable after patch 9.
But it is still not read and it takes no more damage. I have died a couple of times and still is 1/1. lol ever lasting armor
Anyone seen this before? Is it just a display bug or does it really work? (Need to check my log if it absorbed any damage).

the SEA's work fine with a 1/1 cond bit of armor, but it does NOT offer you any protection. It actually has vuln to all dmg types, as if it wasent there. I used to use my old brocken SEA armor bits, until i got killed too many damn times by the hole it left in my armor

Did your broken pieces list any resists ? I am pretty sure they were 0 when this happened before (and that cond was 0).

I used to have a pair of boots at 1/1 (bought them second hand as a newbie and never looked at the condition) It wasn't until i needed to repair some of my other armour pieces that I noticed it was 1/1...
I ran some tests and they were never absorbing any damage, so while you can wear them they do you no good as armour
