After 6 months and 47 GDK kills, I finally got my scale and became RIS certified this evening.

Congrats. Someone was asking for price checks on an interwoven schematic on galaxy trade this weekend, you may want to look into that.

'Hate' may be a little strong. It's more like severe dislike! Just kidding 8)
Hopefully, I'll have your kind of luck when searching for scales that I'll actually get to use and keep. I'll definitely check into the schematic. Thanks

ok im a newbie to armorsmithing. how do you becmoe RIS certified? what is a GDK?

RIS is a quest for armorsmiths. you have to talk to an annoying little bothan on dantooine near the rebel base. he will give you differnt schmatics that you need special (rare*) loot items from 4 special creatures. Woolamander Harrower(Yavin 4), Reclusive Gurk King (Lok), Giant Dune Kimogilla(Lok), and a Peko Peko Albatross(Naboo).
Harrower = bone fragment (need 2 of these to complete the quest)
Reclusive Gurk king = Gurk king hide (need 2 of these as well)
Giant Dune Kimogilla = Dune kimogilla scales (need one of these but are hardest to get because the mob is hard to kill (profession depending) and its a rare drop)
Albatross = albatross feather (need one of these)
after you get those items you need some regular materials that dont spawn very often or at high quality...
and the bothan keeps all the stuff you give him to advance in the quest.
