Thread: new armorsmith needing advice from seasoned proffesionals
While not the most seasoned armorsmith, I did start as a holosmith. Grinded my ubese shirts the whole way thinking I could be master for 2 weeks, make millions, drop it and move to the next holo (musician, part of the reason i'm still AS).
Well I couldn't be more wrong. Some point during the grind (4/1/0/4 I think) I realized AS is pretty interesting. However, I still took the wrong approach. Kept grinding, not paying attention to %'s, layer properties and combinations, and only paid slight attention to resources. Finally hit master and thought i'd be able to push out 80/80/60 comp and 75% ubese like the wind. Again, wrong.
Best recommendation is what I found out too late. Pay more attention to how resources affect the outcome, make a ton of gloves to expirementevery possible combination, expirement againand read this forum. I found the forums way too late and they are a huge resource (along with swgcraft). Also, don't expect to find a recipe book to make the "best" armor, going to have to do the grit work yourself and figure out whats the best YOU can make. However there is a "armorsmith dictionary" which is unbelievable and another great resource.
Just a few tips to try to avoid the mistakes and approach I had originally taken. AS is definately a pretty fun profession, but can be very demanding.
Enjoy and good luck
