Hello

I'll master armorsmith today and i would like to make perfect composite but dont know anything about crafting good armor

i'm interesting in kinetic /electricity/stun special protection and high base

can you give me some advice ??? what minerals should i use whats stats on resources are important etc.

thx Bolciu

Omg and you are going to call yourself a master armorsmith? Oh wait, I bet you are just joking, right?

Look at the schematics and you will see what stats are important and what resources you need

I'd suggest reading all of the FAQs and other information posted on these boards. There's a lot of nice stuff here, and a lot of nice people with some experience under their belts.

As for making the 'perfect composite,' I'd hold off a minute there killer. Let's start from the beginning:

[Layers]
The first step is making layers. There are three types you should play with based on your needs: Electric, Kinetic, and Stun. Getting the materials for Kinetic and Electric shouldn't be a problem, but if you do get the Crism Siliclastic Ore for the Stun Layers, save it until you know what you're doing.

[Kinetic Layer]
There are three stats on the layer you should worry about: Base%, Kinetic%, and HAM. If your goal is to have 80% Kinetic and as high of a Base as possible, then ignore HAM. Since most players with Composite are buffed while hunting, toying with HAM isn't your priority. To get to 80% Kinetic Resists, you'll need a 7% Kinetic resist on the layer, and then you can put all of your other points into Base. My layers are 7% Kinetic, 2% Base, and I put the rest into HAM.

[Adv Composite Segment]
After making a few crates of 7% Kinetic resist Kinetic Layers, you're ready to toy with the segment used to make composite. You'll want to make Advanced Segments for better stats, but it's not required that you use Adv. Put three 7% Kinetic Layers into your segment and your other materials and you should have about 22% Kinetic for the segment and then you'll have another % for the Base (mine was 12% to start I think) and another for Electric. Ignore the Electric resist and put all of your experimentation points into Base until you max it out. Then put the rest into Special if you want a higher Elec resist in the final product, or into Durability if you want a slightly higher condition and lower HAM in the final armor.

[Adv Composite Armor]
Now you're ready to make the armor! Just put your resources into the armor as normal and use crates of your segments you made earlier to see what you get. Now, during the experimentation phase, put everything into raising the Base resists. Due to a bug/glitch/dev decision it will raise your Base, Kinetic, and Electric resists! With all greats you should have 80% Kinetic when you max out the base bar. If you don't have 80%, don't worry! You can put the rest of your points into Durability and it will lower HAM and raise your Kinetic up to 80% (at least when my kinetic is at 78% and I put one point into Durability, I get 80% kinetic).

There you go! 80% Kinetic! You can tinker around to get different results, but this is how I get my 80% Kinetic armor. You'll also have to spend a lot of time gathering resources, and depending on your server, you may have a difficult time doing so. If you can't get 80% Kinetic with the 7% Kinetic Layers, bump it up to 8, 9, 10, whatever it takes to get 80% in the final product.

Hope that helps,

Personally, I believe the Ultimate Composite is Stun Layered Comp..... why you may ask?

Kinetic Comp

80% max Kinetic

No stun resists (means you get waxed in PvP)

Bad HAM cost, but can be encumbrance sliced to make it better

Stun Comp (DMAXv4 Adv Comp available on my vendors)

37%+ Stun resists (best defense in PvP)

80%+ Kinetic (since kinetic resist is not in the special column, you can slice the crap outa it and get up to 90% max Kinetic resists depending on the base %)

Horrid HAM cost, but with buffs and food it is manageable

If all you need is Kinetic defense, use Kinetic layered Ubese armor. It is extremely cheap (68k per set on my vendor), has decent HAM cost, and you can get up to 75% Kinetic resists in it.

I recommend you play around with layers and different ways of experimenting on them. Because you're new, you might not have all the higher quality resources the established armorsmiths have. Following on that point, because many have different resources with different qualities, it really comes down to what resources you have and how you experiment with them.

I think you may be giving up some base % on how you're doing the layer. Here are 3 examples of layers that will give me 80% kinetic. Keep in mind...kinetic is based on the base resist. I can't remember the final base on any except the first one. Mainly because they weren't worth keeping.

1 - 4% base 4% kinetic = 69% base 80% kinetic final combine

2 - 3% base 5% kinetic = 80% kinetic final combine

3 - 2% base 6% kinetic = 80% kinetic final combine

You need to know what your best unlayered base % is to determine what the layers need to be. Mine is 54%. So...

54% (unlayered base)+ 12.xx% layers base + 12.xx% kinetic base = 78% kinetic

My final combine for gloves was 80%kinetic/69% base. Obviously, my layers must be over 4.33%...pushing the decimal over to the next higher point on the segment.

This was all done last night. So it's still fresh in my head. I'll be making some factory runs tonight.

Crap... It never clicked that the Base on the Kinetic Layer was in fact adding to the Kinetic Value before the Special protection took place... God it makes so much sense now and I can get a higher base% on the rest of the stats. Damn you're awesome!
