Thread: How did this happen? Some kind of fluke

Ok, same materials, same segements, same padding. I just hand-crafted 25 Kash Chestplates. The first one I crafted was 45% kinetic. The second one was 46% Kinetic. The rest were all 45%. I couldn't hit 46% on the rest of them.

On all experiments, I maxed special and put 1 or 2 points into base, depending on if I got an amazing on the special. Save for 1 or two where I put a point into durability thinking it was acting like composite or something.

So what the heck happened?

Sometimes you get "rogue" assemblies which leaves the caps slightly higher. So even if you use the same resources, same components and the same item is made, you might get better results. Not sure why it happens or how often.

Maybe if you get an amazing success on the initial combine, and possibly at least 1 amazing on the experimentation (just a guess, ive not tested it) it may let you push the boundaries out a bit.

Did you check to see if that was the case on the 'rogue' one (an amazing success on the initial combine ?)

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention on the assembly roll or experiment %'s of the 46% kinetic prototype (wish I had...), but after that I started paying attention... and even on an "amazing" assembly roll the starting experimentation %'s started off at the same numbers as they would on a "great" assembly. (I'm talking about the three bars that you can experiment on here.)

I do remember that I had no experimental amazing successes on the 46% kinetic prototype, because I was only able to put 1 point into base after maxing special. However, it seemed like the unexplainable improvement was applied to all three lines on that one, because w/ 1 point in base, I was able to get 21% base resists, whereas on every other prototype, 1 point in effectiveness would give me 20% base resists. Also, I looked at the HAM costs, and sure enough, each one was 1 or 2 points lower that the regular combines, even though I didn't put any points into HAM.

I wish I had made a schematic out of this assembly, but since it was only me second combine, I figured it would be easy enough to do again. I was wrong. =(

Ive experienced this along with great frustration aswell.

I often get one item that is better than anything I can reproduce later. It's often among the first 3 final combines of the day.

The last one was me trying to duplicate last weeks run of 65 base, 79 kinetic armor. The helm came out to 66 base and 79 kinetic, while the chests capped at 65 base 78 kinetic. No matter what I do, I cant get 79 kinetic on the chest, this is using better materials than last (and restested using the exact same stuff)

I also see variations in segments often. Some will have 1 point or 2 HAM higher in one stat and lower in another, along with a difference in integrity.

Ive tried it all, but I cannot duplicate this, which is very frustrating when making large runs of layered armor. You REALLY want things to be identical.

This has happened to me quite often lately. I used the exact same resources and crated components, but getpieces 1% higher/lower than each other. This is with "great successes" on all experimentations. Really weird.

To bad you didn't make a schematic.

What's happening to you guys is different than what happened to me. It's normal to get different results on different pieces of armor because one piece might weigh... oh, say solid petro higher than ore. Or whatever. This will frequently happen on different pieces of armor is my point.

My deal was... the chestplate came out w/ different stats... one freak assembly. The rest were identical. That doesn't happen often.

Im talking about identical pieces too. Like helmets with 65% base on the first run, and capped at 64% base since, even when I switch to better resources to test, or most recently, kinetic layers with small differences.

THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

I made a helmet schematic yesterday, had one of these "freak" assemblies AND an amazing success. Then I saw I had forgotten to wear my AS experimentation robe for the 2 extra points. So I put it on and re-make the schematic, great successes, no freak assembly. The first item was actually better...

The moral is, dont spend 50M on an AS suit, just limit yourself to one schematic a day

Just a bump to see if there are more people who experience this.

I've had it happen. My previous run of chest plates was 2% higher than they should have been (with lightweight layers they were coming out at 66% base, then suddenly had one at 68%). Made a schematic. Was happy.
