Thread: REALLY BAD ARMOR COMBINES THIS LAST WEEK, ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?

I have been getting very bad combines since last Thursday, multiple crit fails on one set of armor, good to moderate success combines on many,manyarmor pieces. Usually my combines are great success for the most part. Would just like to know if there are other people having this same problem lately. If this continues as bad as it has been, I'm likely to quit the profession, losing way to many good resources on armor that is turning out to be crap. I am using mostly 900+ oq/sr resources so the resources are not the problem.

ive only crit failed once this week, had a few poor successes, but 90% + of my combines are good successes, with a very very rare amazing success here and there. It seems good to me, but maybe im lucky at the moment.

Statistically speaking, sooner or later everyone should occassionally experience a bad run as you have described. As you know, a 99% success rate does not yield 99 hits, 1 miss, 99 hits, 1 miss, in an orderly pattern.


Said another way, we should expect that over a very large sample size (that is, lots of people doing experimentation over a long period, as we have in SWG) that a small number of people will occassionally experience a "slump" in exactly the same way we would expect a small number of people to occassionally experience a "hot streak" (and yes, I use the athletic / gambling terms because the same principle applies.)


It's a common statistics topic - if I had the time I would google-search it for you and providea link.


Anyway, the bottom line is to shrug it off and go forward.
