Thread: Looking for alternative Armor

Hey folks I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is anyway to get any armor other than Ubese and composite to hit around 70% to the Kinetic. I was thinking maybe Padded would be able to get up there with the right segments and what not. If anyone could help me figure this out I would appreciate it. I want to pick up armorsmith but unless I can offer a unique product to set me apart it seems I am likely to get lost in the shuffle.

Thanx in advance.

I can hit 64% Kinetic on Chitin with my materials. Add some Krayt scale scraps and it would hit 70. The good thing with chitin is that you can use singles and smaller lots of krayt scales since the armor segments don't have to be factory made.

Hitting 74% on padded without any enhancements and 10 points. (And sometimes even 77%).

That's great news. I was wondering how Chitin would compare if an armorsmith would actually offer it. Now, at 64% kinetic, how does the encumbrance compare to advance ubese at the same resists?

I made some chitin for display a few days ago, and it came out only 61% but the HAM:s should be about the same.

Helm: 22/22/184

Chest: 124/45/27

Biceps/Bracers: 22/22/27

Gloves: 22/33/27

Leggings: 46/102/27

Boots: 22/33/27

Total HAM: 324/323/400

My current batch of 70% Ubese has total HAM: 333/393/461

Comparable, but the Ubese really has an advantage since the jacket also covers the biceps.

63%chitin(62%on helm for one more point in encumbrance)

324/319/405 encumbrance Vs. 322/377/441 74%Ubese

The chest on Chitin gets wrecked fast, if you thought you burned through Ubese fast, this last a lot less, the 11%resist less didn't last nearly as long as Ubese(even though Ubese covers 3hit areas) Is a minimal encumbrance for a large amount of cost(now if your set on credits and don't care to go through chest super fast and want to look different and not bad, then I'd invest in it)

Padded dual Kinetic layered can easily reach the 70's, exact varies per server, mine is 74-75%.

Hope this helps.

Probably should have mentioned I am on Scylla. Anyone seen this done on my server, I have heard that resources and what not are better or worse on different servers.

Perhaps a nice experiment would be to make Blast layers, max out the base resists on them, then put the rest into lowering enc. Put in a Janta Hide also, since the arms, gloves, boots only use 1 segment, it would make crafting it a bit easier.

I personally pay nothing for any of my materials.

I usually credit people upto 20 cpu for their next suit of armour...that gets me a ton of hides for virtually free. That, and guild members give it to me.

Although, i would expect to pay upwards of 75 CPU for really good hide....especially wooly.
