Thread: Advanced Armorweave Segment Irregularities?

I wanted to make a fine suit of advanced mabari armorweave to put on my shop wall, but I've run into problems making the segments.

I'm using the following materials:

Bronzium Iron OQ906 SR709
Ditanium Steel OQ995 SR788

This is the first piece I've ever been able to get 10 experimentation boxes in the experimentation line in, interesting to note that the last box is wider than the earlier.

My problem is that my base experimentation is a low 11%, so when I experiment with all greats it only goes up to 81%, still leaving a lot able to be experimented. Even with all amazings It'd go up to 91%, but it looks like it could go even higher?

I tried to calculate the maximum possible experimentation, but I couldn't find the equations for this that worked. What I found was:

starting experimental percentage y = 0.0003x - 0.0369
max experimental percentage y = 0.001x - 0.0012
x = average material quality for the relevant attribute

This would give a starting percentage of 21% and a max of 82% but this does not seem to be the case. It works for the Experimental Resistance Bar, but not the Experimental Quality. Shouldn't they be the same? I'm very confused!

I could never experiment all 9 boxes at once either, I tried 16 times and didn't a great a single time.

After combine: http://garnux.keffo.nu/swg/craft1.jpg
Pre-experimentation: http://garnux.keffo.nu/swg/craft2.jpg
Post-experimentation: http://garnux.keffo.nu/swg/craft3.jpg (This is with 10 single greats)

Anyone got any light to shine on this? I must be missing something, but I have no idea what.

Hmm..gonna have to give this a try. I've been using factory run segments for so long.

Who knows, maybe I'll get better results. Not that people are beating down my door for Mabari though.

Hahaha, you silly boy. Let me quote some of my posts (the thread can be found here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=armorsmith&message.id=48635&highlight=#M48635)

Hmm.....when I compare my post with the one where someone makes 32% kinetic mabari, there must be something wrong. Are you making use of enhancements? Or did you craft on that one special day? Or is my model wrong?

It seems Emily indeed questioned her little math model when she noticed something was wrong.

In other words: currentlyI do not think it is possible to make mabari armor with base resist over 30% without using any enhancements. The 32% armor you made was either obtained using an enhancement, on the special patch day where crafting was changed orlong ago when the crafting system may have been different.I will gladly apologize if you can make 32% kinetic mabari today without using enhancements.

Oh my, it is getting worse. She is even willing to apologize if Tirgwystraff can show her how to make 32% mabari.

I cant see how you would need 12 points to max out quality on your armor piece. Considering your resources you probably start with a quality of at least 28%, even with 10 points you can experiment this up to 98%.Since you need 12 points, doyou start out with less than 23% quality?

And the interesting discussion was ended with a question that was never replied to. Until now, that is,in a different thread. I can feel him pull the dagger out of my back.

I can confirm this. When making a segment my starting percentage for Quality was 10%, for Resistance 21%. Normally, these should be exactly the same. Experimentation resulted in an 8.2% base resist segment. When using this to make gloves I was able to experiment up to 95% quality (and this time both quality and resistance started out at 27% like they should)equivalent to27% base resist, close to but still below the theoretical maximum of 30%

Read it all the way through again. In at least 3 different places, you are all but calling me a flat out liar, especially over the needing 12 points to max base. I'm still waiting on Dova to post what he gets using the same resources. Right after I had posted on that thread, I posted on the main Intrepid forum, asking for both his and Charprime's help to prove this ( pathetic that I should even have to!). Both readily agreed. I take such attacks very personally. It's not as if I'm posting that I made 85% base without slicing or any crap like that. You should know by now that no 2 armors experiment the same, or follow the same experimentation model.

Funny, I dont see where I call you a liar anywhere. I just question whether you are really capable of making 32% base mabari armor without any enhancements with the current crafting system. The data I have collected so far suggest you cant. I am not attacking anyone.I am trying to make models for the different types of armor. These are empirical models based on experiments. If someone tells me he made armor that doesnt fit in my models, I will question that. I will either proof him wrong or he will proof me that I need to adapt my model. I have not seen any evidence that causes me to adapt my model, little asit may be.

What is the MA and UT on those metals? MA and UT as well as OQ affect the experimental durability imensely.

Durability? I was experimenting on the Quality, which according to the schematic should be 50/50 OQ/SR just like the Special Resistance, but it doesn't look like it is..

Bronzium Iron MA276 UT635

Ditanium Steel MA235 UT816

If I had to guess it looks like they forgot to remove the publish 7 crafting day changes from the armorweave segment quality line or something, it is really funky.

Now I tried with some other iron. 8% pre-experimentation on the base, and I got a 9 point amazing success.. which pushed it up to 58%! What is going on here? I'm losing my mind.
