Get your unlayered base percentage, add your layer base on top and then your layer special resist (with layer base and special multiplied by the number of layers you want to use) on top of that, decide how much extra you need to get it to.

Yes, it can be done using 2 kinetic and a stun layer. I've made several suits of comp with 80% kinetic, 6% stun and 64% bases. And i know the bases could be higher on that aswell. To hit 80% with only 2 kinetic layers i think you need atleast 10% kinetic on the layers to reach it. However, the problem with only double kineticlayering your comp is that the bases are low, they will be around 54% or so depending on the quality and the HAM won't be so much better that you'd want to sacrifice the added protection from the bases. But thats a personal opinion and when my other charc is out fighting its good to have high base armor for NPC's and in the event you pvp in stun vulnerable armor

Wow, here I was thinking too much into it. It's that simple. Excellent. thanks!

If I use two kinetic layers with 3% base and 8% kinetic resist I can make 80% kinetic armor (64% base resist). If I want to add stun to my armor, I use two 4% base/6% kinetic layers and one 2% base/11% stun layer to reach 80% kinetic, 11% stun and 64% base resist.

Oops, I meant to say 80% kinetic, 11% stun and 67% base resist.

I'm very sorry if this has been brought up before. I've been reading through these posts for a while and haven't found a satisfying number yet. Dova Mentioned in a recent reply about a 3%/4% possibly, but I just wanted to clarify this for myself. What is the smallest % in kinetic effectiveness do layers need to be to triple layer them for a final 80% special resist? also, would it be possible to reach that with 2 kinetic and 1 stun layers? and what would the numbers have to be at a minimum for that? I am currently able to create 67% base pieces with triple 4%/6% stun layers (21% final stun protection) any tips on tweaking this a bit? thanks
