Thread: Finally hit Novice Armorsmith, then Disappointment

After all that grinding, I finally hit Novice Armorsmith,
only to find out that the one type of armor that is new
to me, I cannot make because it requires a tailor component.
I never wanted to be a tailor, and I still do not want to be one.

This was EXTREMELY disappointing.

I do not have a lot of money, and was hoping that I could
subsidize my buying resources to reach master smith by selling
cheap armor for low prices, but now, after all that, I can STILL
only make bone armor. I've seen on the boards where you can buy
them, or find a tailor, etc., but I don't think this should be
necessary. From what I read, Mabari armor isn't all that great
to begin with, but since I can't even make it without relying on
money (which as I said before, isn't plentiful in my bank) making
Novice Armorsmith is almost useless. I'm not a scout (and did not
want to be) but I need to either become one, or buy bones and hides
to make bone armor that really isn't that popular (from what I see)
in the first place.

I understand the desire to get people to interact and trade for parts,
etc etc, but not everyone can (or wants) to do that. I would just like
to be able to make stuff, sell it, and get some experience. I just feel
like I've been gipped...

Anyway, I don't expect anything to change because of me, but I wanted
to rant anyway. I feel a bit better.... =)

Hi Zach

Find a nice armorsmith whos willing to make you a factory schematic from your own resources and make them in your own factory.. That way it wont cost you much

It gets worse, when you get to personal armor I to make chitin you need reinforced fiber panels, can only be made by a tailor with level II in one of their trees. Very difficult to find on the bazaar.

You can do what the other person said or try and find a tailor to make you some. I know this is done because the DEVs want interdependance of the professions, but it is kind of a pain.

You got a long ways to go, if your already complaining after just finishing with artisan, then crafting isnt for you. Go back to being a marksmen or scout.

there really isnt a happy medium if you want to dabble in both combat and crafting.

inorder to get good sales, you will need merchent as well.

my crafter is a Master Artisian,AS,Tailor, and 4,4,x,4 merchent

has zero combat abilities, kreetles make me flee in terror

Zach, get yourself novice scout (you'll need it as a minimum) then either a) find a tailor to make a schem for synthetic cloth using your own materials, or become a Novice Tailor yourself (because it's all you need to make Mabari)

I did the Novice Tailor bit, but am now in partnership with a Tailor who makes schems for me.

I would suggest using the Community Search function and get a schem for the synth cloth....if you don't like crafting after that, then stick to Bone armour (which can be quite good!)

Easy solution:

1. get tailor yourself ( you still have plenty of skillpoints because you are only novice AS)

2. get enough cheap resources to make 1000 synthetic cloths

3. grind to get reinforced fiber panels

4. get enough resources to make 1000 rfp's

5. make factory schematics, then drop tailor.

make the taillor components whenever you need them, better yet make 5 schematics and you may neve need a tailor again. (make sure you keep your schematic resources seperate. use grind quality resources so there is no temptation to use thme in armor)
