I got an EXPENSIVE suit of comp armor, but I've been careless and let the conidition fall and fall and fall.
Now its about 35% on some parts and the effectiveness has reduced about 5-7% already lowering the value of the armor by hundreds of thousands of credits.
I cant afford another decent suit, so I'm asking, if an armorsmith repairs my suit, will the effectiveness return as well?

If they don't fail, yes.

and just so you know, even with 100% repair tools, the Smithy still has a chance to totally destroy the piece.
If repair is successful, it will restore the condition (and effectiveness), but it will reduce the max condition.
If repair is marginally successful, it will restore the condition (and effectiveness), but it will reduce the max condition even further than a successful repair.
If the repair fails, the item is destroyed. condiction I think is then set to 1/1 and now I believe should appear red?

Does an armorsmith have a better chance of success over regular players?

Nobody knows for sure if armorsmith has a bonus to repair. I personally think they do, as I've failed on pieces with my non AS alt and have had guildmates fail their own armor trying to repair it.
I've done about 150 repairs or so with my MAS(on my secondcrate of repair tools)and have only had one total failure, using 98.6 eff tools..About 70% are the repair with 20% max condition lost, 20% are themarginal success repair with 40% max condition loss, and 9% are the good repair with a minimal condition loss(1-2% I think).

My own experience, albeit subjective, tells me armorsmiths have some advantage. Since I reached tech IV I haven't failed once. Back when I was just and artisan I would fail periodically. Guildmates who stick to combat profs have told me they fail all the time, even with good tools.
I don't know that anyone has defined it, but I believe armosmiths do have an advantage.
