The stats are what is important, not the type. SWGCraft.com has lists of almost all the schmatics, what resources they need and what stats are important.

Heres another great site, it is somehow feed by the swg database as well as player reports. I find it much easier to use and its often more accurate about current spawns. Also the display format is much easier to browse.

P.S. The stats most important to armorsmiths are OQ, SR, UT, and MAL

What is the best type of each resource to ues in making Comp Armor. I.E. best copper steel...ETC.
