Hi, I hope a commercial or trade related question is not unwelcome here. I am a new Master Ranger on Ahazi, and recently put rancor armor segments on the trade forum with no minimum, and at the end of a week there were no bids on them at all, even tho the message got bumped by bidders interested in another of my items. There were 10 identical from the same beast, stats 33xx, (I forget exactly) and I thought that made an attractive item.

However, a seasoned player told me that this loot is little sought after now, because so few players wear padded. Is that about right? Or didn't I reach armorsmiths in that particular forum? Any tips on the best way to sell quality hides to Armorsmiths? Can you point me to a discussion about this, any way that an organic supplier can help you guys out?

You are correct that Padded Armor does not sell nearly as well as it should. There are several factors, first because of the amount of hides required to make each suit is so much more than composite or ubese armor. Second, it has much lower resists and so people won't even take a second look at it.

What it is is a light set of armor (compared to composite), has a huge array of colours that are available, and has much better base resists than ubese armor, though the helmet is not the best stylistically.

I would look for an armorsmith who specializes in making Padded and offer him those segs. Best I can come up with...

I actually like Rancor Padded armor as it tends to be light enough to wear without buffs. I have a few crafter type friends who Ive outfitted in Rancor Padded and the stats tend to be around 47-55%base. All that is needed is a couple of Enc slices on it to get it well below 400 HAM (I think my current set is 280/350/410...I wear a comp helm).

Rancor Padded Segments really arent all that good unless you get up to about 20% base. Their low end is 12%, just destroy them as they are pretty much worthless. If you manage to get in the 30-40 range, you got some really nice segments there. I was able to get my hands on some 46%base segments and made some Padded legs that have 70%base (darn enc slice).

So what's the word on rancor hide? The stickies say that the base drop is 2% base, what is considered good and is it used the same way other enhancers are?
