Just looking to see others' results in this path, as it does have a strong following amongst PvE'ers.
I worked a bit here and there to perfect mine, though it is made with mostly 2nd bests from my server. The goals were it HAD to be 80% Kinetic, and lighter to wear than a regular suit. My regular suits are fairly light compared to the top notch pvp armors because I don't go for 70 base.
Anyhow, here's what I came up with:
36k condition, 80 kinetic, 59 base, 587-524-606 HAM
(that's slicable down to 322-288-333
)

This is the only kind of kinetic composite I have been making since I became AS 9 months ago.
Latest batch is 80% Kinetic 62% base and 1496 Ham ( health+action+ mind) ( stats in sig are outdated I need to update them
).

I was playing with some RIS layers last night. I got 4% with 0/0/0 or 3% with -7/-7/-7. I guess if you don't care about the base you can do one of the 3% -7s with two 10% kin layers with some NS shards thrown into the mix since you are doing loot armor anyways. Should come out to what you get with unlayered comp armor.

I make stuff like that too, (80 Kin 60 Base)
Most of the other AS on chimaera tend to go for 65% base with HAMs in the 500's, but the way i see it nobody is buying this armour for the 65%... Its all about the 80% Kinetic If the base protection is 'that' important then they will most likely be better off with a suit of 80% E.E.K. 70% base.
So far my personal best with 80% Kin 60% Base is 487-421-496, but each batch can vary a tiny amount.
I always over engineer the main pieces, If I fully experiment base effect I hit 64%, but I stop when it hits 60% (7pts) and stick the remaining 5 points into hams.
On the lesser parts, biceps, bracers, gloves n boots, I use different segments which need full experimentation (8 points) on base effect and leaves 4 points for Ham cost, these always come out 1-2 points lighter on each stat than if i were to use the same over-engineered segs which go in chest plates, hats n legs.
Also, I make high condition versions of the chestplates as they take such a hammering, they come in at 240/73/37 with 45.5K of cond as opposed to 200/63/33 37.4K cond for the regular ones.
I wish buffs werent so uber though, it would certainly make armour crafting more interesting, all this middle-line experimentation is a bit boring.

With my 10pt armorsmith alt I make 80% Kinetic, 70% Electricity, 61% Base, 37,400 condition, 572/516/591 HAM armor. It's nice to be able to make something that's in real demand with only 10 points

mine is 80kin/65base apx 520/490/560
we dont have the resources to get below 2/2/2 on the layers effectivly. It is posible but only with a poly that sells for 500+cpu and is more of a colectors item

mine are about 30-35 total points higher than Ail's up there
I can goet down to 1/1/1 layers if I want to, but usually end up with one of the stats at 2
first poster should be able to get much lower than that
