I'm not a crafter so I don't know much about these things which is why I ask you here.

I kill mainly elders, I don't pvp, but the armors that I can find with stun resists which is a must for killing elders have electric as special resist, this is not very good for me since some elders use vibrolances.

So my question is, is it possible to craft a stun armor with energy resist instead of electric as special or will the armor become worse with energy as special resist?

The armor you are describing is composite armor made with stun armor. Electric is an "natural" resist for composite. It will always stays in special you can't move it into base to get it sliced. Therefore the best you can get out of electric is 80%. If you want to get 90% you have to find high base Krayt armor segment to make into composite and hope for an effective slice. But the problem with that is you can't add stun layer to the segment and be vulnerable when an elder pulls a stun batton.
