Thread: In light of what we now now about the CURB and armor, lets talk Segment Enhancers and Epic Armor

One concern....if RIS would be the "end all...be all" armor, can you imagine 50 people huddled in the back of the Geo Cave waiting for Ackley to spawn? I've tried to get a schematic there, but everytime I fight my way back there, and wait for the spawn, two ormore guys who logged in the back of the cavelog back in at the last minuteto outdamage me. Then... they have the nerve to say "If you want a schematic...go BUY one!"
I try to have fun at this game, and have a good time hunting my own hide/bone/loot components with my alt, but dont appreciate the fact that the components I really need to make high-quality armor/weapons are being horded by selfish players taking shortcuts/exploits. Making the Interwoven RIS schem ultra-rare will just encourage these players to camp Ackley more, making the cost of the schematic astronomical, and making the cost of RIS unattainable for most players. Ackley would become the new Nyax. If the Interwoven Schem were occasionally dropped by other mobs/NPC's that might help, I just have a bad feeling about what may happen if it's left as is.
Just my 2 credits...I'll get off my soapbox now.

my comment WAS related to armor certification...
I know, but this thread isn't.
Apology accepted, but if you have to vent, do it in a thread with a related topic, or make your own.

Now, in addition to that, I want to talk about the "Epic Armor"s as the devs call them, Mandolorian and RIS. Right now, there is positively NOTHING Epic about them other than their looks. Therefore, I think these armors, in order to TRULY make them feel epic, should NOT follow the Ying-Yang effect, and instead be allowed to be crafted as they have in the previous system, where raising one stat does NOT lower the other. RIS is supposed to be rare, and therefore, it should already have a built in control that prevents them from greatly unbalancing the game. Thus, RIS achieves the Epic status it was MEANT to have in the game.
And in order to avoid truly top shelf RIS, the devs have to do one simple thing - make the Interwoven RIS schematic RARE. That's it. Even if everyone rushes out to get RIS, without interwoven, people aren't likely to even sniff 80% kin 60% base without good loot items. So even RIS would have limits, and the Interwoven RIS schematic would be the "Holy Grail" of RIS, allowing for the Best RIS on the server to be crafted. That would TRULY make RIS as epic as the devs say it should be.
That's not entirely correct. I used pretty average janta hides(4%) with crafted kin/stun layers and made a helm that came out with 80%kin/66%base/4%stun and still had pretty good hams on it(207 mind as I recall). This was standard RIS, not interwoven. helmet got sliced up to 85% base
. The Chest I made at the same time only made it up to 64% base but still decent(other stats the same). If this was interwoven then I could have really had some fun with it adding a nice yellow cube and a NS layer could have easily put me up at 75%+ base resist.
I do hope all the enhancers will now become usefull as you mentioned though. It would be nice to actually see a purpose for what is currently considered all useless loot.
