Thread: Pre-CURB RIS Need Experienced RIS AS Advice

I have a set of pre-CURB RIS armor. 5 pieces of it are ADK'ed (helm, chest, pants, boots, gloves), all pieces sockets are filled with AA (these I'm not as worried about they can be replaced). However it converted rather crappy IMO to what it was preCURB. The stats are about 40k-45k ham, with 5160 resists. I've heard RIS can get upwards of 7k resists if broken down and remade. Now, my questions...


1. If I break this down will the 5 ADK'ed pieces return my ADK's?

2. If I break this down will I need to get 9 new GDK scales, woolamander bones, and gurk king hides?

3. What if any resources will be needed by the AS to make the best possible RIS with the resulting segments?

Well, you are getting hosed on the resists as it's lower than cap. However, RIS's resists when rebuilt are no differnt than any other armor, but the condition is 3 times better I've heard. That's about it.

When you take it apart, you get a ris segement (which is the crafted piece that now contains the three loots). This segement is now the only thing that differentiates RIS from other battle type armors during crafting. You are still limited by the same resist caps as other battle armor (6000 across the board unlayered), but RIS does craft with a substantially higher condition now. I have made a few pieces post CU and they are popping out with 110kish condition. My old RIS resources were all picked for OQ/SR, though. So, I'd wager that can be pushed even higher with high oq/sr/dr resources.



As far as your adks go, I have no idea. The traditional way to reclaim one is to destroy the item. This will prevent you from getting your ris segment, though :/ With RIS component prices plummetting (at least on ahazi they are), I'd say that it would be better to reclaim the adk rather than get the segment if you have to make a choice. Perhaps you could file a ticket about the issue?

You break it down, you get the RIS segment and the ADK back. i have 3 pieces back from guildmates and am re-crafting back at better specs all around.

A question to you who have some contact with the devs etc: As Blair wrote in his blog, great items(such as RIS or really good Composite) before CU should be great after the CU, but why is it all crap after the CU?
Or is this just a lie they pulled on us?

precu feathers dont seem to do anything in the RIS layer feather nhancer. :/


as for resists... if you find the best smith on your server, you should be able to get a suit of RIS with 6500-6550 kinetic and energy, Bring him 3 identical stacks of 8 krayt scales, another 12 loose krayt scales, and 7 postcu feathers and you can have +350 added to the suit as well (315 health w/out feathers)
