Thread: personal shield generator question

Hi,
I am a master swords, master kta and I fight in PVE only. Is a shield generator any good for me? I bought one and it just sits in my inventory when equipped, it never goes down in value. Is it working? Do they need to be turned on or something?

When you travel PSG's will often become unequipped even though they may look equipped. As a result they will seem to last for ever.
Next time your about to fight something unequip the psg and equip it. Then go to town. You will quickly find that the PSG has decayed down to nothing.
Understand that the PSG is the first thing the mob hits. As a result it will not last long when fighting in PvE.
Also take not of what your PSG is resistant to vs what you apponent is using.

mobs do mostly kinetic damage, and PSGs do not protect against kinetic. PSGs are pretty much useless, the DEVs don't care about the fact that they unequip when you travel, and its a real pain to keep reequipping them.

I have some pre-CU PSG's, Imperial Prototype kind.
Stats:
Ranged Accuracy 10
Ranged Speed 10
cond: 9500/9500
Enegy: 1920
Every time a npc hits the shield it takes away from the Effecieny slot, just like a JTL ship lowers the shields until it hits your armor. My brother, a Jedi. Every hits lowers the stats until my shield generator resistance for Energy is 0.
Is this intended or a bug?
if it is intended what do you think the chances are of getting replaced PSG's from CS.

odd, just logged in and they are back at there proper stats. Strange, cause when the stats hit 0 i was taking full damage. :-(

from my understanding they recharge over time. Mabey the repair kit can speed it up, but I belive thier supposed to recharge over time.

Effeciency Returns to 100% but the stats do not return, i think the recharge is supposed to be linked to the effecieny % but it is broken

i've experienced the same thing. each hit dropped the enegry stats down. when the fight was over, it was at zero (actually about mid fight it was at zero. i used an armor repair kit and it went back to 1920 rating. if this is how psg's are gonna work now, then they've pretty much become useless. i figured they would act like "armor" and lose condition, but apparently common sense is out the window on this one.
