Can anyone point to me the discussion on this. I decided to harvest my own hides after being tired of competing with other AS to buy it at outrageous prices. Well I decide to use the 4 piece set up: Helm, Chest,Glove and Boots. It works great for hunting but I was wondering if it works for PVP? I remember reading something about it. I asked a few people about their armor uses some people swear the 4 piece suit works in PVP and some says it doesn't. Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks,
BTW why are we making Ubese armor if the 4 piece suit works?

The biggest reason this succedes in PVM is you are generally fighting melee and the critter is generally melee attacking you in return. THis allows your Damage Mitigation 3 for master to work. Being hitfrom melee attack with mit 3 results in a 40% damage cut off the topish. In PVP you will find a person is generally attacked more by ranged attacks than melee..and a melee Damage Mitigration 3 chcter is hit hard from ranged attacks if they have armor on and much more if no armor on a spot. The only time I would wear less than a full suit in PVP is against a Jedi. LS is vulrn on all armor so you are hurting yourself with enc.
Just my 2 cents

4pc works in pve and pvp. Some pieces of clothing create armor holes though, so test new clothes on little stuff first

Certain special moves hit the biceps, forearms, and legs. This is where a 4 piece will fail. It is so successful in pve because critters do not have special moves. If you were to fight high level npcs, you would see the occasional unblocked (and painful) shot get throough from a special hitting the legs or uncovered arms.
It has been suggested that this bug is presentdue to a botchedattempt to treat a tantel "suit" as a full suit of armor.

Is it the clothing or is it the scatter hit by a fencer that is the problem for PVP. I knew it worked pretty well against PVE although I haven't tested out on NPC's using range weapons.Anyone did in depth testing on this? please comment.

What kind of special moves?
All sorts - strafes, body part attacks, unarmed/1hand/2hand/polearmhit, last ditch, and torsoshot off of the top of my head. They will not always hit the arms/legs, but there is a chance that they will. Regular attacks will never hit anything besides hands/chest/feet/and head. Hence, the success of the mini-suit.

I was a bit surprised at the number of Quickness wounds I was getting thru my 4-piece while running the Jabba themepark. But last night I realized that I had bought Mabari gloves, not Chitin, since the suit was basically just a hunting outfit.

I use a 4 peice suit on everything all the time and havnt seen a armorhole in a long long time and with the stuff i fight i would have noticed cause it would most likly been a 1 hit kill if it didnt go through armor.
Scatter hits are buged and at times do seem to by pass the armor but that has less to do with teh 4 peice suti and alot more to do with the piss poor codeing that seems to have the first 1/3 hit one peice and that 1/3 deflected by that peice of armor then the other 2 hit a 2nd peice and that 2nd and 3rd hits not blocked by anything on occasion regardless of the wearer having on a full suit or a 4 peice
