Thread: Ubese armor stats (at each stage of the process)

Hey everybody,

Im new to armorcrafting and I thought Id start off with some Ubese to get a feel for it. Thing is, I went through the whole process with what I thought were pretty good resources and came out with Ubese armor with 70% kinetic. Now, I now this is a bit short of the 76% that seems to be the norm on vendors (I did some research lol).

So, what I want to know really is what stats for each of the components are good? i.e. What resistances should I have for Kinetic Layers? What resistances should I have for Advanced Ubese Segments?

Any information much appreciated.

From memory, it's been awhile since i've personally crafted ubese, but...

Kinetic Layers were experimented to 14% kinetic, 2% base (10 points to special, 2 points to base if you have them)

Segments were about %39 Special, dont remember base (10 to special, 2 to base if you have them)

Final build was about 77% kinetic, 24% base (max special, then remainder in base).

For experimentation, i think you'd want to maximise the special (kinetic) in all phases.

Hope this helps abit. and remember, to raise the Resistances, you need resources with good OQ and SR.

I'm an 11 point smith and that sounds pretty much dead on for me. I usually end up with 25% base though.

I've got 70% kinetic ubese as well, it seems that my sub-standard axidite iron seems to affect my resists, but I put my remaining points to durability so that the armor lasts that much longer. Also, I don't have great wooly hide...anyways, my approach is not to compete with the 76ers but to price my armor dirt cheap, I won't make that much money, but I'll be moving product easy.

Why do people spend points on base? Without dropping a single point into base at any phase I still get 16% base resistance, but the encumbrance is lower and the condition is near 20K.

/agree

Ask yourself, why do people buy ubese over composite? Ham. The ham unexperimented isn't that much lower than composite, and non human races won't be able to wear it without a good slice. Once you raised the kinetic, dump everything else into ham. If you go for amazings, and are a 12 point smith, you can get as many as 15 experimentation points out of this, with 5 into ham at every stage. This will drop your mind ham far enough that non humans can wear it off the rack without slicing. The boosted condition is gravy as well, and far more important than a couple points in base.

I try and stock both types. The higher base stuff moves more quickly. I'm not going to tell paying customers they don't know what's best for themselves... well, I have actually but I'm always ignored.
