Thread: Stat degradation and repair

As a relatively new player, I have only recently worn armor down past the 20-25% point. I had a fiiine ubese jacket, 76/31 with sliced HAM (and mayo , that now has much lower base and special resistances. I've read the offical posts about repairing, the 25% threshold, the slight boost AS get, etc. However, I have not heard of this before.

1. Does this happen for all armor types/pieces?

2. Is the degrade point at 25% condition?

3. If the armor is successfully repaired, do the original resistances return?

Thanks.

1. Does this happen for all armor types/pieces? Yes, all types of armor degrade once their condition gets down. Some pieces, like the chest, get hit more often so their condition gets drained faster than say a bicep piece.

2. Is the degrade point at 25% condition? I believe it starts losing stats around 50% (haven't checked for awhile so I could be mistaken) When you get lower in the condition the resists go down faster.

In the Tuesday Tips by Thunderhart he was talking about Weaponsmiths and their chances to repair weapons. We assume that the same type of code works for Armorsmiths also but haven't had it verified. In the tip TH said that it was best to get it repaired before the 25% condition mark because after 25% the weaponsmith has a lower chance of repairing it.

3. If the armor is successfully repaired, do the original resistances return? Yes, the original resists are returned, however the max condition of the armor is likely to go down from the repair. The max condition doesn't go down much if you have a repair with minor blemishes but those do not happen very often.

Thanks.

Hope these responses help

Thank you. You are a scholar and a gentleman (or lady?) (distinguished alien?) .
One verified, this would seem to be FAQ material.

Armorsmiths don't get any repair bonuses, we were supposed to get some earlier this year, but they don't work. Get the best tool you can find and hope for the best, thats all you can do.

There have been no confirmation from the devs so your statement is just player speculation. The Tuesday Tip I was referring to involving weaponsmithsrepair bonuseswas a few weeks ago, TH still has not gotten back with any data involving Armorsmiths however so we are still in the dark on any hard facts.

Although I do suggest that you repair your armor yourself I know several armorsmiths that will repair armor in their free time (as long as you buy their armor :smileywink

No, wrong.

There have been many large tests done by the armorsmith community to test it we are better at repairing, and each time the tests have been done the results are the same, our repair rate is no better than any other class. These have been extensive in-game tests with large amounts of armor, not some two peice study, not speculation. The armorsmith class is no better at fixing armor than others, period.
