People keep telling me bone armor is better then nothing because you want to get that AR:1 However, if I mainly only fight critters who do kinetic damage and bone is vulnerable to kinetc that means all kinetic damage goes through regardless of the AR:1, correct?

So if I'm fighting critters doing kinetic damage, do I wear the bone legs, boots, etc or just clothes? Do I wear the armor just to have AR:1 even if it is vulnerable to what's hitting me?

I think it has something to do with: If ur wearing armor that is vulnerable to a certain type of dmg (WHile wearing armor) the Armor Piercing of their weapon will be 0 instead of w/e! NOt sure tho!

Yeah if something is vulnerable it passes right through, you don't get the AR to AP gains,look for mabari armor instead it has Kin resist.
