Now I notice that with electric layers it requires a bit of siliclastic ore, that kind of ore doesn't usually have very good stats. What layer should I go with for the special layer. Keep in mine kinetic, heat and energy need to be 90%.

Hmm, looking at swgcraft.com it looks like I should do blast layers. I've got tons of really nice ferrous metal. Although it requires a little more resources than the others, I think i'd be better off with this though.

If you really want an uber suit go for stun..... makes it a little more tricky as you will loose a around 1% from base, but the end result will just kick ass!

I have made 90% base, 80% elec 25% stun in the past, I do not think you can beat it for an all round suit...

Elect is a good layer to use as is cold. but for 90% base you need to use the "gets 35% eff slice" layers.

You can get the base on your Electric layer armor to 70% on Shadowfire, It only take a 28% Eff slice to get 90% base. Even with the average slice you still have above 80% resist on everthing, And with 70% base pieces that got encubrance slice it'll make a decent replacement for Ubese. It seems people want the magical 70% number on their armor though anything less even 1% they shy away from it.

On bria I used stun layers to get 70% base, 13% stun armor. Sliced around 20 mini suits to get 2 90% suits for myself.

Elec, Blast, and Cold are all good it just depends which type you can make the best with the resources on your server.

Best bet is three stun layers, experimented for max base, and remainder for HAM. It gives around 12% stun, and doesn't move anything else to special, so when you slice the 71% base to 90%, everything hits 90%.

I personally think that 80% Kinetic, 80% Energy, 80% Elec, 71% Base is a waste of good composite ingredients. The only reason I see for high base with a heap of specials is to get encumbrance slices. Otherwise, if you want high base, you may as well get 90% kinetic and energy in there too and take half he damage of someone who has 80%.

If you have to, then cold is probably the least useful other resist. Blast is useful protection from Acklay hammers to your head, so I'd keep it.

The important resists in pvp are typically Stun, Acid, Energy, Kinetic, Blast, so I'd go with other types of layer if you need to to hit high base.

I've never understood using Kinetic or Energy layers, as it makes those resists unslicable. While I only get 13% Stun resist on my 80% electric/70% base, 13% is better than a Stun vulnerability any day. Even a mediocre slice will give you 85% base resists.

If Janta are a favorite target of crystal hunters on your server, its possible to collect massive amounts of Janta hides ata cheap price. These 3% base hides allow you to experiment encumberance to a lower level with the downside of many small runs (the Bespin Port flows freely on those crafting nights....).

Kinetic layers are great for grinding armor or low-enc slice armor. My best seller is kinetic composite.

If I were making 90% armor, though, I would use stun or electrical layers. Prefer electrical layers myself as you can put your extra points into HAM and have a low ham suit even with an effectiveness slice.
