Seriously 1 line of experimentation, it takes all the fun out of it, could they take all the work out of it too and make armor simply be a "suit"? Craft 1 layer for 1 core for 1 suit and be done with it? Since they're taking the fun (experimentation), it would make sense that they'd remove the work (multiple subcomponents) aspect too.

A agree...and move all the armor down into the Engineering branch of Artisan. Weaponsmiths can make the PSGs. And Tailors can make the layers. Just put the bullet in it and move on...

How about this idea...
We get rid of harvesters and factories completely. We can search the wilds to find clusters of resources and manually mine them. Hey, if hand-crafting is fun... hand-mining will be even more fun! That would beso cool. Then we go and buy our subcomponents from tailors. Finally, we have to buy fuel to craft the item.
This would be awesome. Maybe add in some skills that we can use like combatants in the crafting phase. Like maybe increase the success or increase the durability. This way we can counter our critical failures.

I so can't wait to stand in a starport for hours on end making a bracer for this guy, some boots for that guy, a new chest plate for her, "oh not that light blue the other light blue ok MY fault". /roll eyes.
Thank god summer is coming.

Renea,
Good ideas all around!
I think the panultimate fix to all this though...would be that full suits of armor drop as loots. Get the product right into the hands of the customers. No need having other players collect resources and plugging them together like legos first. Our fellow combatants will be happy...and we will be free to join them now ![]()

also can we put level requirements on them?
like, you have to be combat level 40 to equipt? that would be sweet

Make it just like BE pets where you have no idea what thearmor level is going to beuntil after the finalpart popped out of the crafting tool. That would rock!

"xxxx Jedi Knight uses screaming Wookiee for 2752 points of Orange Damage, your 3million credit suit of factional armor absorbs 2400 points of it thus making the average player, that much poorer."

One of the pains of armorsmithing is that suits are 9 pieces. That's a lof of factory runs. Also with the new Armor Cores we'll need an additional run of subcomponents. If Biceps and bracers were incorporate in the chest piece we would only have to make:
- Helmets
- Chest pieces (which covers chest and arms)
- Gloves
- Leggings
- Boots
Seems much more manageable to me.
