ok people I just came to conclustion that RIS isn't want it used to be and I really wished I knew about this BEFORE I started it. I have errr... HAD 8 GDK scales. I spent about 500k on the rest of the componets and reasources finding out you LOSE.... I repeat LOSE your FIRST RIS segment. (OMG JESUS I JUST LOST LIKE 1.2 million credits. This DOESN"T include losing one peko peko feather for the RIS layer. And it gets worse. You after all this you don't even get to pick what peice you want to make. Dumbazz RIS quest dude makes you start with the boots (why boots???? I rather have a bracer or a bicep than boots!). Its just I'm pissed at this and i feel that I want to give up. Though I won't....

Actually, I hope his post was a joke. Otherwise his scream when he realises he looses the boots as well will probably go around the earth a few times.

yeah, i hope he posts a follow-up after he has to give those boots to the old man...

I read the guide and I was still a little bumbed. The guide says you will burn one GDK scale, where of course it is actually two. I fought that GDK in a group for two days before someone let me keep two of the scales.. i was so stoked that I could finallyfinish the quest and still have enough to build a helm... no dice. still, it's all worth it now that me and my brothers all wear full RIS.... and looking back, this is certainly the most rewarding quest I have done it the game.

just on the note that the RIS quest now takes two instead of one GDK scale. That's because the guide was written pre-cu. And back then it only took one GDK scale as the GDK scales were used in the final assembly. NOT in the segment. But now it's all in the segment. I'm not quite sure why the hell they changed this but it does make the quest that much more potentially expensive.
