Thread: Padded Armor Belts Aren't armor

I'm sorry, but you're wrong man. I wear a padded armor belt, and more often than not, i see the little message pop up on sreen that says "Your Padded Belt absorbs *** damage". They do work.
The belt slot used to occasionally take hits, and that was one of the causes of the "armor hole bug", however the devs claim they have fixed this now, and I haven't noticed any armor hole hits in quite some time. When was the last time you saw your belt getting hit?
I've talked to two people I trust regarding padded armor belts made from "exceptional" acklay hide segments. Both report the belts absorbing damage, acting like a PSG. I've made belts from normal acklay hides (even yellow text hides) and have never seen one take any damage at all.
Beyond that, some folks see them as a good place to put armor attachments due to the high condition if used with acklay hides. To that I say mabari belts, ubese shirts, and ubese bandoliers do an infinately better job at this since they have no condition to decay.
I think there may be a bug with "exceptional" hides in padded belts. Dunno. If I ever get my hands on "exceptional" acklay hide segments, they sure as heck aren't going intoa belt.
To do a better test find a profession with a special that does multiple hits all over at once.
I know fencers have "scatter" hit which seems to strike different parts of the body. I dont' think these things will in any way work like a psg though. Psg's deflect armor to ANY area that your hit. While based on what I've read hear that isn't happening.
So maybe it only resists hits going to that particular area whatever it may be.
