Hey there, two totally different proff's I know, and sorry to post on your boards but I thought you might know a bit more as you are the ones who actually make the armour.
Basically my customers, and friends, sometimes ask all about the AP on weapons and how much difference it makes. Basically I need to know what % of damage each AP add's. I myself thought it was 25% bonus damage per level, if I have missed a sticky on this, or have not looked hard enough Im sorry, but if someone could please give me brief details on how it works, maybe with some examples which would be great in both PVP and PVE.
Thanks for you time and help.

There should be numerous posts on the subject and i know there is information about it in the all about armor and armorcrafting thread.
Anyhow this is how it works.
IfAP>=AR then damage = "weapon damage" * "output modifier" * 1.25^(AP-AR) * (1-Resistance)
if AP<AR then damage = "weapon damage" * "output modifier" * 0.5^(AR-AP) * (1-Resistance)
where "weapon damage" is the damage stated on your weapon, "output modifier" is a modifier added by the game to all attacks (i think it is 1.5)
AR is Armor Rating where none = 0, light =1, medium = 2, heavy =3
AP is Armor Piercing where with the same numbers as AR
Resistance is the resists of the damage type ie 80% resist is 0.8.
