Thread: FP questions to buy schems

I'm sorry to ask, I wish there was a sticky all about faction armorbecause maybe this has been answered already.

I'm grinding my fighter to give fp to my cl 1 MAS to buy faction schems. My cl1MAS is a new recruit no fp. Do I have to grind enough fp to actually get her a promotion? Her cap atm in earning fp would be 1k and that's hardly enough to buy schems. So do I have to grind enough fp with my fighter to promotemy MAS to raise her fp cap in addition to the fp she'd need to buy the schems? Please, someone tell me this isn't so...I have a sinking feeling it is though...

you can just donate enough from your fighter for your MAS to get a few promotions - to perhaps searget perhaps so you can actually hold enough FP. then you might also see a slight drop in prices too, though not 100% sure. jsut let the fighter do the grinding

yeah....that's just....a lot of grinding even so....grind the promotions on the fighter....grind the promotions on the MAS....grind the schems....bleh kk, thanks, was hoping it would be a wee bit easier....

alternativly you could go to the imp vs gungan battle site north of moena, write a /shoot; /pause 3; /shoot; /pause 3; /heal; /ui action cycleTargetOutward; recursive macroand goto bed for the nightbut that'd be naughty.

lol, I play SWGs, I don't go to bed for the night sigh...nah, I'll grind it...that way I can complain bitterly and make all my friends feel overwhelmingly beholden to me when I make their faction armor

Hm, I think it might be a little quicker if you...

a) Make your AS a pilot of the faction you need the FP from. You lose a certain amount of FP when delegating (used to be a factor of 1.18 at Colonel rank so you have/had to /del 118 to transfer 100) so you actually would have to grind your combat toon to Colonel rank and then once you gain faction for delegation you would have to do 1.18x as much work as when your AS would be directly making the FP (that's 18% more work... quite a lot if you e.g. assume that it will take at least 20 hours to grind one toon to Colonel and the other to at least Sgt. - you would"lose" roughly 2 hours compared to the AS =pilot method). Don't know about the space PvP situation on Bria though. If it is very unsafe to fly around overt (which is required to gain faction... you need to declare at a space station, not on the ground) then this might not be an option.

b) If you are very rich then you could grind your combat toon to Colonel/Master Smuggler (or at least Underworld IV). Then you can buy as much faction as you want (or as long as yourmoneylasts anyway )from a recruiter or any high ranked NPC (you need to be Special Forces) and delegate to your AS. Advantage: No grind required at all except for the initial grind to Colonel/Master Smuggler. Disadvantge: Costly... but AS usually base their faction armor prices on bought faction anyway so you should still be able to be a competitive figure in the market.

I tried this, but getting fp from piloting seemed painfully slow. Maybe I'm still at too low of a space level to get higher fp per kill...dunno seemed much slower to me...could also be I suck at space games and get car sick while playing

I'm like the poorest MAS you'll ever meet. This game almost killed me the first time I played, stocking vendors, answering tells, taking special orders, it became a job...like a dreadful job...like as dreadful asarl dreadful job, so I quit the game entirely. So now that I came back, I make armor and clothing for myself, husbandand friends and theydon't pay LOL though I may make them pay me in fps.

Thanks for the suggestions, I may try piloting again and see how the fp racks up.

The fastest way to do this is to have a friend that can wear 2 sets of armor , offer him 2 free suits of each faction armor in exchange for the fp's. Took me maybe 15 mins.

Yes, faction point gain does directly depend on the tier level of your enemies. I grinded the 20K imp faction for an AT-ST on Infinity recently (where imps are/were losing big time... thus the high cost)and killed tier 5's in Kessel and Deep Space. Don't quote me on the exact amount of faction but I think it was 70-80 per killed enemy fighter and up to 200 (?) per Corvette (Corvettes in Deep Space that is). Corvettes can be killedrather easily at times becausethey will be heavily damaged from PvE encounters. They often have no guns left or just very few so really easy kills. It's a method I can definitely recommend. Grinding faction on tier 5's in space is relatively quickly done and much safer/faster than killing lvl 80s on the ground IMHO.
