ah so finally, i pickup ranger tracking 3, i find some GDK's by the imp outpost, 3 spawned, last one dropped scales!!! yipeee, i have 63k of leathery hide and since ranger ive been able to get 990 units per kill, shows how bad the loot rate is i guess on such a hard creature, even with multiple loot drops its still a PAIN to get, 65 kills probably and no scales until now.. RIS will remain rare im sure...
Plus NO ONE is even killing GDK's on my server really. I have ran into 4 distinct groups on my server. 2 Groups that can handle it, and 2 groups that cant handle a GDK kill unless they try to killsteal me and make me tank, i usually burst run away and let them have the kill and watch them die, if i am way into the battle ill usually pull the GDK so im not tanking for a few novice rifleman killstealers.. Anyway Its very rare that i even see anyone even looking for GDK's in the 6 normal patrol spots. THen again in play 12am EST till 5AM est. oh well.

Been looking all over for em. not many people hunt em on my server either or atleast i don't see them...

Ya my patrol is Nyms to Kimo Town to Gurk Spawn 1 to Imp Outpost to Gurk Spawn 2to Circling the Volcano Twice Then "Over" the volcano
I do not know how people hunt these things effectively without ranger tracking 2 or 3, its near impossible, i can be within 100m of a GDK in some instances and it wont spawn. i usually whip out a speederbike and hold the shift key to travel slower around the volcano (pre ranger lol). Of course ive seen dozens of posts everywhere people saying that the only GDK's theyve ever seen are at KimoTown. Which i personally have never looted a scale from there, and i sometimes camp that 1hour 10minute respawn timer for 6 hours straight on my secondary account and would kill it each time, Only thing ive ever gotten are bone armor segments. Although ive read people sometimes saying they've looted scales, i personally think thats misinformation trying to throw people off.

i looted 8 GDK scales 2 nights ago at kimo town. also on interpid there seems to be a drop in wild gdk spawns. there are a few citys around the volcano and imp outpost. i use to hunt gdks there, but since the cities are there now, i have not seen a single gdk spawn in those 2 areas

I am also on Ahazi. I am a master ranger/master rifleman. Let me know if you want to hunt GDK sometime. I would be happy to add my own tracking to yours. I game around the same time. I can take a GDK, but it is always more fun to hunt with some. Same name as here in game. Tsalmaveth.

what tactics and/or templates do you use when hunting these, and yes I've noticed a good spawn around or near the imp outpost.

I live on Chilastra and Imperials have cities all around the volcano. So they haveLok pretty much camped. What is your combat template if you can solo these 80-100% AR3 beasts?

swordsman/doc makes easy work of them
doc is almost a must with the evil mind desease they have

use to do it just with mbh, 80% armor, buffs, etc. now i solo them with mbh, master rifle. Headshots and mind bleeds with i solo, strafe 2 when someone trys to KS.
