Does anyone know if you can use Rancor Hide in RIS? Not the padded segments, but the hide?
Here is what I have been told you can use to enhance RIS:
NS layers
NS shards
Geonosian cubes
Janta hide
Krayt scales
So....what else can be used? Rancor hide? Kliknik shells? Kimogila scales?

Kliknik shells are chitin segments so those won't work... NS layers are not technically enhancers but layer substitues... Any enhancer will work in RIS... Krayt Scale, Janta Hide, Rancor Hide, Voritor Scales, Fambaa Hide, NS Shard, Geo Cubes (in the interwoven RIS - good stuff btw)...
The question is what you and your customer want from the RIS as to what enhancer you use... Recently I made a pair of Interwoven Boots using 2x 6% NS layers, 1x 7% NS layer, 4% Yellow Cube, -26/-15/-22 NS Shard... Experimented according to customer's request we wound up with 58% Kinetic 77% Base 4/14/1 ham 39k condition (personally if this was my armor I would have tossed either a kinetic layer in or experimented the kinetic up a little higher + possibly use Janta hide instead of NS Shard)... Picking and recommending the right layers/enhancers is half the battle...

unless it's been changed in the past few days any enhancer that is Protect specific (besides Kenetic) will badly mess the stats up. Anything that increases the generic "effectivness" of the armor such as Nightsister layer or Janta hides work very well, but a Krayt scale for example will not stack properly and the protect that is moved from Effectivness to Special protection will be left only with the stat that is shown on the enhancer...
For example I made a piece for a client (against recommendation) using a Krayt Scale around9% stats. When assembling, the kenetic stat did increase by 9%, but the effectivness (which assembled around 35%) had the Other stats from the scale moved to Special effectivness along with the Kenetic (which is typical) BUTit only showed a 9% stat for those protects and would not experiment up.. so he ended up with a moderate kenetic and effectivness, but with several stats frozen at 9%.
The best combo by far is using High Stat NS shards or other layers (IMO only kenetic) and only using Jantahide or NS shards for the 'enhancer'

this is how krayt scales have always worked, you should have played around with other armors first if you hadnt done it before
