I am still new to AS but I noticed that Synthetic cloth has a slot for an enhancement. I assume this is for BE enhancements? Anyway, what I am wondering is, does adding enhancements to the synth cloth do anything once it is in the armor? I dont know much about tailor and almost nothing about BE. Any helpwould be appreciated.

Yes, the optional slot in synth cloths is for BE tissues... no the BE enhancements do not carry over in armor, they are lost. Use regular synth cloths. Same goes for armor that uses Reinforced Fiber Panels, BE enhancements are lost in armor assembly, stick to regular ones.
