Hi
If I layer ubese with kinetic, I get to experiment the kinetic protection 3 times: when I make the layer, when I make the segment, and when I assemble the armor piece. Now when I make a padded armor piece, while I can still experiment on the layer itself for kinetic protection, experimenting on resistance during segment crafting or pirce assembly does not seem to raise the kinetic value.
I know that ubese's native special protection is kinetic, and that is probably why I can experiment on it, and that padded's special prot is blast (so useless), but I'm wondering how people get to make high-kinetic composite then since composite does not have special kinetic protection natively.
I need advice here... can padded have a chance to have high kinetic like ubese and composite? How does it work exactly?
Thanks for the help.

Composite works a bit different than the other armors in the experimentation phase. Raising the base protections also raises the special protections. But be sure to max raising the base protections before lowering HAM, or you lose some of this "extra" raising of the special protections (electric and whatever layer you have introduced.)
As to how to get good kinetic padded, I don't have a solution for you. Your best bet is to introduce an enhancer and layer that raise base protections and leave kinetic in a sliceable protection. A high BE NS layer and janta hide come to mind.

Make it like you would Ubese.
Max the Kin layers, left over for base.
then exp on the Base of the armor, will raise the Kin resist on the padded.
My padded armor I use for my alt is 75% kin 50ish Base.

To obtain high kinetic padded armor, make kinetic layers maxed for resistance (3rd row)and put these in a segment. Experiment on the segment for maximum quality (2nd row). As you already noticed, spending points on resistance here has no effect. Finally, create armor and again experiment for maximum quality. The kinetic resistance of your armor equals the sum of kinetic and base resistance of your segment plus an amount dependent on your resources (maximum 30%).
Example:
Kinetic layer - 14% kinetic / 2% base
Padded segment - 28% kinetic (2x 14%) / 20% base
Padded armor - 74% kinetic (28% + 20% + 26%) / 46% base (20% + 26%)
Hope this helps

padded and comp are the same...as is all armor, depending what layers u use. Example. Chitchin is naturally kinetic based, so u experiment on pure kinetic all the way through. But padded and comp, kinetic is a "forced" special i.e. its thrown up by the layers. So just experiment on pur kinetic for the kin layers, then on teh seg and the final armor, experiment on the BASE to bring it up. As their origonal specials are blast (padded), and electric (comp), experimenting on the specials line will ONLY really boost these. i've tried it a few times, as i plan to stock padded reguraly on radiant server. With OQ 10 yavin wooly (yuck), i was comming out with 63% kinetic padded, and can probably get it to 75% with good hide.
