Does Armour padding made with good resources and experimented by a Master Tailor make a difference over Armour Padding made with poor resources by a Tailor 0300.
If so what does it affect?
resits? HAM? Durability?
Thanks in advance,

Yes it does affect the base effectiveness. I dont make much wookie armor but I dont think it would affect the overall base that much. I can tell you this, its not advisable to use Ecix (sic) wooly to make wookie armor padding.

THanks very much....
Im not sure what you meant by "Ecix (sic) wooly" ??
Is Ecix the name of a wooly spawn on your server?

Yes hehe. The Ecix was a Yavin Wooly many moons ago that was like 950OQ and 950SR. Nuff said

Once upon a time my 12 point tailor guildmate went on vacation, and this little armorsmith needed new schematics for Armor Padding badly. I searched far and wide for another 12 point tailor but, alas, could not find any. So, worrying the whole time, I found a 10 point tailor to make me Armor Padding with 3% base effectiveness. 'What will this do to my armor?', I worried to myself 'I've always used 4% base effectiveness Armor Padding.' So I shuffled off to my shop to test it out and lo and behold the armor came out the same! I was happy.
I'm tired so I wrote that up that way. Bottom line is I have never seen a difference between using 3% and 4% padding when crafting the armor with the same segments and resources. Haven't tried 2% pads yet. I think i'm scared to. Was the condition different? yes, but it was a minimal change. Didn't notice a difference on the HAM costs though.

I am a bit surprised that some of you haven't seen any difference. To me, the padding has worked exactly as an additional segmet, it adds toHAM, base resist and integrity as described on the padding.
A 3% should give you 1 less point in base compared to a 4% padding. Hidden decimals can explain the lack of difference maybe.
However, depending on what type of armor youmake, you may not need a 4%. If you focus on e.g. 80%kin/80%energy armor, one point less in base is not that important you just adjust the layers accordingly. If you want to make 70+ base for slicing to 90% base though, then 4% padding is the way to go.

I tried with 43% Armour padding and with 85% padding. I made a few pieces with each by hand.
I could not see any significant difference between them... having said that ALL my bone and wood resources are terrible and that probably was the main problem.
I dont want to use up me really nice hide on the padding fi garbage will do just as well!
I guess the difference will be more apparent when (if) i manage to get some nice bones and wood.

I've always used the crappiest Wooly I can find. I do ask the tailor to experiment the base up as high as possible, but otherwise don't care. Mind you, the best wookiee hunting armor I've made is like 80% Kin, 63% base (unsliced) on Starsider.

If you want to check out how various resources end up, you should use Armorsmith's Little Helper (its a link in another post on the boards, dont have it, sorry). In order to get the 4% base, you need a decent wooly hide and fairly good fiber andgeneric hide.
I have used a wooly with OQ+SR around 1400+ and reached 4%. And I would _never_ use that hide in any other armor I make...
But as I said before, you shouldn't really bother unless you want to maximizeyour chancesfor a high base (read: 90%) during slicing. Getting 3% with poor resources is fairly easy so the difference is really minimal.

OK i went out and bought some better bones and hides.
I started from scratch making new kinetic and energy layers (with the new polymer Valcyn has just got).
I used 85% Armour Padding and some 43% AP.
With the 85% AP i am now making: 80%Kinetic 76%Energy 62%Base with 2-3 points into HAM on the final combine.
I was NOT able to get these stats with the 43% AP. So it did make a difference.

Same deal with layers, there is an unseen decimal point in there. So a 70% pad and a 75% pad probably won't make any difference yet one will show up as 3% and the other as 4%.

I use 96% padding in my best hunting armor... it already costs enough to make, why not go all the way? (I only make the stuff with enhancers too!)
this is with:
961oq 965sr 940ut fiberplast
996oq 935sr 936ut wooly
