Thread: Can someone point me in the right direction for Resources 101?

Im a new to crafting and Id like to find a thread or doc that explains what type of Resource stats help the most. I know its not as easy as "The higher the OQ the better", but what formula does the general community accept. SWGcraft.com shows "*" to count the number of resource stats that are above 900, but i recently saw one that had 2 "*" and had very low overall quality. I will be crafting Ubese and Padded armor for now, but what formula should I use when trying to determine the best steel/hide for the job. Thanks in advance everyone!!!!!

There are three important avarages for AS

OQ/SR 50/50 Resists
OQ/MA 50/50 Encumberance
OQ/UT 50/50 Condition

the higher the better... as you can see OQ is part of all three so it is by far the most important stat. followed byt SR mal then UT.

It always varies ... it depends what use you're making of it. I'm no AS, but here's what I can find out quickly (thank you SWGCraft):

For an Ubese Armour Jacket, you're looking at Iron, Steel, Neutronium Steel (and I wouldn't try to use Neutronium Steel in them all unless it's best suited and you have a LOT of it - take advantage of flexibility), Polymer, Leathery Hide, Wooly Hide, and some subcomponents (Ubese Armour Segments, Fiberplast Panel, Reinforced Fiber Panel). Looking at the experimental values, I see the stats most consider important (effectiveness, special effectiveness) work off OQ and SR. OQ is more valuable since it contributes to all others, but it's the total that matters for these stats. Also of value are UT and ML. For the hides, the rule of thumb is OQ+SR=1500 or more. For Iron and Steel, I wouldn't accept less than 900 in both and would aim higher. For Neutronium Steel, though, SR is severely gated (limited to a smaller range of values) and has less than 100 points in variance - you can consider a high-OQ Neutronium to be pretty good in that case, even if the SR isn't all you hope at first glance. It ranges from 692 to 762 as far as I've seen. You also need to consider rarity, some things aren't in-shift as much as you'd like. Remember, http://www.swgcraft.com/ is your friend!

Edit:when I started writing this, there was only the original post...

Just remember that these sites depend on people telling them about a spawn. I've noticed that swgcraft is missing a lot of spawns.
