One of the virtues of a higher education has been a little math got learned by this guy (/pointat self).

I spent a few minutes and figured out the experimental percentages to hit Special Protection and Base Protection Levels on layers. Some of this information has already been posted but not lately and not by me.

So here it goes:
Layer Special Protection	Experimentation %
0 -7.1
1 0.0
1.33 2.4
1.5 3.6
1.66 4.7
2 7.1
2.33 9.5
2.5 10.7
2.66 11.9
3 14.3
3.33 16.6
3.5 17.9
3.66 19.0
4 21.4
4.33 23.8
4.5 25.0
4.66 26.1
5 28.6
5.33 30.9
5.5 32.1
5.66 33.3
6 35.7
6.33 38.1
6.5 39.3
6.66 40.4
7 42.9
7.33 45.2
7.5 46.4
7.66 47.6
8 50.0
8.33 52.4
8.5 53.6
8.66 54.7
9 57.1
9.33 59.5
9.5 60.7
9.66 61.9
10 64.3
10.33 66.6
10.5 67.9
10.66 69.0
11 71.4
11.33 73.8
11.5 75.0
11.66 76.1
12 78.6
12.33 80.9
12.5 82.1
12.66 83.3
13 85.7
13.33 88.1
13.5 89.3
13.66 90.4
14 92.9
14.33 95.2
14.5 96.4
14.66 97.6
15 100.0

Layer Base Protection Experimentation %
0 -25.0
1 0.0
1.33 8.3
1.5 12.5
1.66 16.5
2 25.0
2.33 33.3
2.5 37.5
2.66 41.5
3 50.0
3.33 58.3
3.5 62.5
3.66 66.5
4 75.0
4.33 83.3
4.5 87.5
4.66 91.5
5 100.0

Note that this is just my "best guess" and these numbers are not guaranteed. Also, it is always best to round up, if you are aiming for 4.33% base on a layer experiment it to 84%, not 83% unless you feel very lucky.

Please let me know if this information is wrong or helpfull... any feedback is appretiated.

very nice

There is still some weirdness on final combine when making armor. I can have armor segments that say 39% stun, but the armor piece comes out as 40% stun. I know this is slightly unrelated to what you're doing, I guess what I'm getting at is that if you add the % of your 3 layers you might do better anyway on final combine.

ive noticed similar when i make 30% stun with 4/9 stun layers..... segments say 29 but bumped to 30 in final

I think the reason for the jump has to be accredited to the rounding of the numbers when doing the final combine...

I know it happens for me also on stun with segs saying 38 but coming out 39% on the final

Maybe we are so close to getting the 13 percent that the fractions when rounded bump it up in the end...

We know that fractions get carried all the way through so that is why we dont see it until the very end

I think if there were fractions they should show up in the segment right? cause the 3 layers are added together. I suspect the final combine does something funny.

It is possible that the layers and segments have the number go out to a few decimal places but the (Int) gets displayed to the UI. However on final combine the decimals needs to be droped so a rounding occurs. So you could have a 39.67 segment made by 3x13.22 layers that gives a 40% stun final piece.

I agree, the final combine is a bit wierd. Here's my experience, unlike the variables of adding 3 stun layers and how it affects the final combine, I make my current wookie Hunter armor using a single 4/9 stun layer, in addition to whichever other two I choose. The segment says 9% stun, but the final combine is 10% stun.
