let me start by saying ive been an armorer since launch.

sitting day one on the crafters hill in keren making bone armor segs till i could acuallly make the pieces wile people stode and waited. After a week of making bone armor i was on tomabari. Drab gray but it said hey, im not wearing bone : ) People bought this up too, Know one well most not even me new what the heck the difference was yet.We all soon learened that bone was for npcs and mabari for critters. A big step in my understanding of how armor worked. Hey we had to figure it out. there was no guild then. heck if you had something other than noob clothing and a cdef youhad definatly moved up in the world. Finally i made it to chiten. Learing that this stuff was the cream of the crop at that pointit sold as fast as i could make it. Iclimbed the exp treee soo my stuff would be better and then I hand made chitin for half of naboo on my month long grind to master. I skiped making ubese as i could make better chitin and people loved it. I experimenting every part. even keeping the failed exps as there was never enough armor to go around. People would bring in bone and hides in exchange for armor. Back then supplying a roup of hunters with 4-5 suits of chitin was a god send. The would come back a week later with more hides and bone saying this armor ROCKS.. as they handed me another haul and i handed then new suits. they made bounus money selling there worn suits that i repaired on the bazzar in some far off place like tatooine or corrila.. or that place i had only heard of talus.

By this time it was a 1.5 run to the keren starport and then usualy a long wait for a interplanetary shuttle. There was always something i could do though. Chat with someone, or search the bazzar for a deal or make something for some passer by. Composite apeared for us around this time. the last resource had finally showed up, the now infamous berrilous copper. Over the next many months i recivce my millionth /tell Je'Cy do you make composite?? and quickly followed by 5 others all asking the same thing. An armorers life back then.. It was my choice, I often told people about ham and protection and how it all works. We all figured out the nitty girtty over the prevous 5 months of testing different stuff.

I eventually was making armor for 3-4 guilds about 150+ people. I dont need to tell you this was a ton of work. btw i had made all my suits. I made padded, ubese, chiten, mabari, and yes even composite.. /sigh the bane of my existance. I finally gaveup the comp gig cuase i snaped one day.. /tell je'cy do you make composite??? and i said Nope... i sure dont. I soon joined a guild after that and after about a 2 month break of making comp i was back in the grind pumping out armor. Well finally a new armor moved to this big city i livedin and started mass producing tons of armor and i slowly fadded into the back ground working on droids.At launch it waseither armor or droids, well the revamp had me soo excited idroped thelast of my combat and made droids. I still made armor but now it was just fully custom stuff for freinds. I did my time and wanted a break soo i officailly retried from publicafter a year.95% of the peopel i delt with over my time were great and to them i thank them muchly but every now and again i get a guy like this.......

well this stuff has 76% energy speical portection 75% kin, and 70% base, whats it worth?

Yea, ::thinks well depending on ham it could be great or the suit could be total dog crap.. but im not getting into ham with this guy there is no way he will get it. "yea76% isnt bad..like i said somwhere between 150k-250k

Look its speical protection, that means its better than base.. soo it has to be worth more.

/sigh No speical protection is just a different exp base and unlike base it cant be sliced.

Look you have no idea what you are talking about. I have a thread that tells all about it, you should read it cuase you have no clue how armor works.

At this point im pissed. Im trying to be nice to this guy..(this is just a small bit of what i told him about armor, Like how composite can be sliced to 90 to all for pve when used with electric layers, or made heavy for pvp with stun layers. i explained how light armor worked, and how the % worked but it all fell on def ears) I finally told the guy fine you dont have to belive me go ask on the armorer boards which he never did. His big comback was well this "jedi" and i know him.. but he dont know a lot about armor.. said blah blah.. well he didnt know, i talked to him later and said "what the hell are you doing sending this total tool to me" ??? he laughed and said sorry.

Now i know this is not everyone and most are great people, they really are.. but enough of these kinds of people a day and years later you do something else ya know. I plan on going back to making armor again. But for now im happy making custom stuff and giving it to freinds..right now, spending time with that CUTE little zabrak in theed is a lot more fun : )

COMBAT REVAMP ! ! ! !! !

I know what you mean. Luckily the people that I have dealt with haven't been too thick headed to understand this stuff... but I've dealt with a couple that I eventually put on my ignore list, cause no matter what I said, I had "no clue".

I don't know many AS that have been it since the begginig, I just picked it up last August or so. And like most of the newer AS, I started out making comp and have eventually included ubese and wookie hunting... long after it came out though. I started playing after comp came out, but before pet mounts and all these new droids. There have been a lot of changes and I can't wait for the combat revamp. I'm still a 10pt AS... and don't see a reason to get more unless I find the tapes.

I've seen a couple long time AS retire lately on my server, sometimes you just a break from the mass producing and customers. But for now, I love AS and can't think of any major reason I would want to drop it.

Hopefully people are a little brighter this time around for you, best of luck... and always try to keep it fun.
