Would getting some trees in Tailor give me more color options for Chitin armor, or any armor for that matter?

I thought it did? I have heard a few guys talk in the past how being a Master Tailor/Master Armorsmith was the only way to make jet black composite? Maybe it was just an old wives tale...I don't know for sure.

They use different custimization skills... so I wouldn't think that they would affect each other.
One way to find out, I would think, would be to get a master tailor or a tailor with appropriate skills to change the color on their comp (since you can do that anytime). I know its different armor, but its still armor... if they have more color options with comp, they might have more with chinitin as well.
Or you could always just grind yourself up some tailor skills and check it out

I have master tailor/master AS and they do not influence each other at all.
The crafting skills are separate. AS experimentation works for AS items, Tailor experimentation works for tailor items.

Good point, I will check that out tonight if my Master Tailor is online! If it works I'll post back tomorrow.

back in the day this used to be true - armorsmiths 'customization' skill was not what it is today, and the only way to get it up higher was with tailor.
they took this out and gave armorsmith full armor customization a long time ago... maybe 2nd or 3rd patch?
