Thread: Some Tantel test

The good: Tantel shifting has been fixed, and whether it was an overlook or not, they have zero vulns atm. Very good, I hope it stays and overlook unless it is causing the bad to be bad.

The bad: I went out bought some decent Rancor Hide, 4%base, 6/3/3encumbrance, 6heat/7cold(something like this) and whipped up some kinetic layers. Get the segments made, and presto. Kinetic/heat/cold all stay at what the special protection is at, and it no way for me to get it up to a better level I noticed. Meaning in short, only use Energy layers atm.

Overall, if the reason why the Kinetic wasn't adding the base as is because its still not fixed with the new vulns(acid/blast/stun/electric(though I'd like to see stun stay in protection)) I'd like this fixed, I was hoping to get about a 32energy/35kinetic/30ish heat and cold, and a 25%base(got 26%base with the layer and the enhancers)

Tantel really has zero vulns at present? I didn't know that- all the reports I had indicated that it had the four appropriate vulns: acid, stun, blast and electricity. I'll whip some up tonight and take a look at it. If it is indeed the case that it has zero vulns, however, I'm not going to make an issue of it given where the general consensus of the armorsmithing community is about whether Tantel should have any vulns at all and the difficulty of getting an effectiveness of even 25%.

The tantel I made last night definitely had zero vulnerabilities. Didn't get resist higher than 22-24% though.

I checked this last night and you are absolutely right. Tantel as made now has zero vulnerabilities. Let's just hope that it stays this way, as now Tantel has a moderately useful purpose.

Yeah, I made a batch just for fun (not knowing it had been fixed...just felt like making SOMETHING other than Composite and Ubese for a change) and it came out with zero vulnerabilities, with 48% Energy and 10% everything else.

Ohhh, I have something to add! I made some Tantel yesterday for a friend and he insisted on putting a stun layer in it. So, I put a 13%stun layer, it put stun in the special protection, and that was that. I then made one without the stun layer, and ended up with 29%stun. Basically, stun is starting out as zero if you put the layer in, and starting out as base if you dont. I just kinda found it funny that the stun protection would be worse if you put the stun layer in.

so if u put in a 8% NS layer you would get 38% stun?
