Seems like you're describing final combine. Well I know that there's kind of a bug there, in that the true final Special Resistance will not show properly in your Experimentation window, until you use at least 1 point of experimentation in the Durability line. For example, after using up 9 points on Quality/Resistance, you may see 74% Kinetic, 54% Electric, 58% Effectiveness. Put the 10th point into Durability and experiment. Whatever the result, you will see the Resistances pop a few points, i.e. to 76% Kinetic, 56% Electric.

If you don't put that last point into Durability, maybe the true achieved Resistance will show once the armor piece is made and appears in your Inventory. I haven't tested that so can't say for sure, but most every experienced AS knows about the "last-point-on-Durability" phenomenon.

Hope this helped.

I believe that what you want to do is put the experiment points into base effectiveness and then encumbrance. I think that experimenting on special resistance for Composite mostly raises the condition more then anything. The way special resists have seemed to work is by maxing out your base effectiveness and then put the remaining into encumbrance. For some reason the experimenting is different on composite then it is on some of the other armors. Don't try and experiment with more then 4 points at a time as you may not reach your full special resists that you may be capable of reaching. Try it out and if you have similar results still I will check back here to see if I can guesstimate what you are doing wrong or if it is potentially a bug.

Good luck!

when you experimetn on the actual segment, always experiment on base, because whatever the layer speciality was will be effected by this

experimenting on special on the segment will cause a raise in electric, the default special resist of unlayered composite

I have been crafting composite armor pieces today and for some reason the special resistance %s go up about 2% from when they appeared in the expirementation window to when they appear in my inventory. If I get a "good succes" it shows that I hit the same amount as when I got a "great succes" or above during expirementation. Even if I didn't expirement on it... I hit roughly the same numbers.. and when I crit fail - the numbers in the expirementation still chage as if I had succeded..

for example
lets say I'm working on kinetic layered composite
10 exp points. I craft it, and I throw 8ptsinto special resistance. it comes out to.. let's say 74% to kinetic 54%to elec.
I then put the remaining 2 pts into special resistance again and it stays the same.
When it appears in my inventory - it's 76%kin/56%elec not 74/54. even though I wait for it (lag?)

Once again
I put 8pts into S.Resistance... crit fail. Resistances change to 74%/54% from 35%kin/20%elec (after the crit fail)

Then
i don't expirement at all... armor comes out close to 70%kin/50%elec...

**edit** is going on? I am a relatively new AS so if anyone has any ideas or input...

thanks for the input. I think I've got it all figured out and now I'm makin 80%kin comp. with 65% base.
