Thread: other armour types reflecting in the combat balance?

Hi all,
was sat looking through my inventory and stored items and found all my kimo scales, rancor padded, klicknik shards etc and it got me to thinking, i wonder if there will actually be a use for these in the combat balance? like obviously right now the re all and end all of armour is composite, with a hint of ubese, but i'd love to see more bone armour, chitin, ubese, padded etc, would bring so much more variety to the characters and also hunting styles.
So i guess my question is, do you think there will be a place for all the other armour types in the balance?
excuse me if this has been answered before on here, but i dont visit the armoursmith forums much.

The combat balance will change all armor and weapons as we know them, if it lives up to what the dev's keep saying.
So, based off what I've been reading, it appears that some of the other armor types will become more useful, and the epic armor types (RIS, Malorian) will have a higher status in the new scheme.
But don't take that as gospel until the changes at least hit TC, and we start seeing the new numbers.
ANYTHING can happen until then.

I really hope so mate, i mean you do see a few people running about in the few odd bits of other armour, but 95% of the time its pure comp....which is a shame really 'cos the other armour types are so influential in the theme of star wars, if nothing more than for the looks.
