I'm not an armorsmith, but I'm collecting all of the components for an RIS suit myself. I play on lowca and I don't think anyone on the server has a full suit of RIS yet - the most I've seen is 3 pieces.

Anyways I'm wondering if there is any secret to getting the Giant Dune Kimo scales. I've killed over 50 of them now, and have never gotten any scale to drop. Whats up with that?

The secret: Keep killing.

It took me 55 to get my last one, one guy was well over 250 kills before he got one.

The secret is that you have to have EXACTLY 7 people in your group, and you all have to start on endor. Make your way to lok and start looking. But you cant use a ranger or there will be no loot. Now once you find one you have to keep looking because the first sighting will have no loot. Find another one and you have to kill it with cdef weapons. Remember that none of your group can wear armor or get buffed or there will be no loot. Also no healing or healing disease or there will be no loot. Everyone in your group must also be a master tailor. No pets can be used, no droids, or there will be no loot. If you follow these simple steps you will get a GDK scale everytime!

GDK scales looted: 4

Has to do with luck and intuition.

Gurk Kings killed: near infinity

Gurk King hides looted: 14

First one we killed tonite we looted 6 scales i was happy till i realised that GDK dropped normal POS kimo scales. Diseased to heck for nothing but disappointment. Kinda reminds of of my friends tip to amsterdam

you are too lucky, i dont have any idea how many gdk i killed, cuz i never kept track, but it has to be well over 30, and i onyl have gotten 1 scale so far, and that will only get me RIS certified

or a crapload of credits and alot of people on your server who don't care about RIS.... hehe

First complete RIS set made for myself on Aug 1, 2004 with stats of approx 75% Kinetic/4% Stun/5% Acid/65% Base/vuln to Lightsaber. (unsliced)
