Quick question, i asked a friend what route he was taking through the AS, Ubesse Shirts or Mabari Chests. He told me Energy Layers. Does anyone know if doing Energy Layers is faster? And does anyone know the resource quantities list if so?

Ok, I am a new armor smith. I see the macro and am going to try it tonight. I do have a question. I want to physically create the items. How would I change the macro to accomidate for this? Why you ask, I have a vendor in my shop with inexpensive items in it and occassionally give away items to new characters while we hunt for resources.

Also, I need padded armor segments, how do I make those? I have a wearables factory, but I do not have a schematic for this, for Reinforced Synthetic cloth or Synthetic cloth. How can I get these items built/made?

Finally, I am going nuts getting resources for my craft, where can I get cheeper resources. I have 2Chemical/2Mineral/2Wind/1Gas extractor, 1 house and a factory. The maintenance on all of these kills me unless I take 10 missions each night to just pay for them. Any ideas?

PS: I am poor after buying that Wearables factory, so 2.02 Million credits will take me some time... LOL

Remove the following from the last two lines: "practice no item".

Ask a Tailor to make crates of them for you or have them create the schematic with your resources.

First off, what type of harvesters are you using? Personal ones? If so, upgrade to medium ones. Yes, they will cost something, but the tradeoff is worth it. You can make some quick money by using your 2 chemical extractors on Tatooine and pulling the Fiberplast. Drop it on the Coronet Market for 4-5cpu and it will be gobbled up (it is required for Medic/Doctor/CM grinding). Other than that, you will have to choose. Don't have your factory out if you aren't going to use it for a couple of days. Get all your schematics ready, then do a power craft with the factory for a couple of days, then redeed it again.

Is this list right?

150,000 metal
119,000 fiberplast
73,000 hides
46,000 inert petrochem
5466 synthetic cloth,

I'm just asking because i've been speaking to a few armorsmiths and they say you also need some reinforced somthing or other to make the chest plates? Are these resources including whats needed for that or just forgetting to mention that part of the grind?

Thanks
-BiggN

You need armorweave segments. A lot. I'm not sure how many.

This is a great guide. I thank the creator of this thread. My own piece of advice about resources: collect your own. I have made several 100k stacks using 3-4 personals on a good deposit (which if u have the $$ equates to 1-2 mediums approximately). The key is spending the time to find a good deposit. I ran two BER 8 windmill for two wind resource migrations and ran 8 personals non-stop for a month off the power they harvested. Now that i made a schematic for a BER 9 windmill I am psyched. On my server personals (off the bazaar) go for 1k -1.5k (on the bazaar they r insanely priced). A guildie of mine sells his mediums for 10k/15k depending on the type. Basically if you don't have a alot of cash to spend, buy a BER8 windmill and 3 chem and 6 min BER4 personals. Grand total 10k - 15k. I've seen wind deposits as high as 75%, mineral as high as 93%, chem 98% and gas 98%. Look for deposits over 70% and you should be fine. It may take u 1.5 weeks to gather all the resources u need and is much much cheaper then paying 3 cpu.

15k for harvestors

I'll say they run for 2 weeks. Personals are 30/hr maintanence, windmills 60/hr. With 336 hours in 2 weeks the grand total is:

90720 personals
20160 windmill
15000 purchase of harvestors
-------
125880 credits

Talk about savings!!!! Redeeding fees aren't figured in, as you'll probably have to do that at least once (but shouldn't be more then 2x). But the cost is still cheaper then buying the resources. For quick cash very easy (u need a vehicle for this though) climb a combat branch to the 3rd or 4th box (i think 3rd but i'm not sure) and get survey missions from the artisan mission terminal (requires novice artisan and some survey skills). The key here is to find a place just outside the 1024m mark that has a high concetration (70% or greater i believe) of hopefully more then one resource (inorganics only). Get two missions looking for those high concentration resources you found and just run back and forth from that spot to the mission terminal. It is easy to make 14k-16k per run, which could easily translate to 90k or more per hour. (i believe the mission payout goes around 8k for the 70% concentrations)

Hehe, i didn't know about putting the second /createPrototype practice no item into the macro. My Doc macro is very similar and the only way it would work is if i closed the crafting window at the EXACT moment that my 4 second resource pause ran out. If i didn't, it would give me the "You are already crafting error". Lol i ground all of doc doing this,i feel like a fool. Maybe this will help answer someof the others questions about that error message. Put that line in TWICE!!

I hate grinding crafting but it's good to know that it will go a LOT easier with AS.

Great post by the way.
