Can my fellow Master Armorsmiths give me the details on the status and/ or timeline of the Vendor NERF/ Fix that has been discussed on the forums? I don't want to get caught without any vendors and lose my stocks.

I saw your post on the Professions page. Right now there is no set date. However, from reading posts in the Merchant forum it is going to be sooner rather than later.

Best to start to plan for the inevitable. The fix is going to happen. It is the number one issue for Merchants. In fact, there is a thread with over 350 posts and still going strong on the subject.

First I highly doubt they will just remove your vendors if you don't have the skills. I have no proof of this, as it has never been stated. I'm just going off of what they have done in the past. To my knowledge only bugged or hacked items have been deleted. What is more likely to happen is that your vendor will be disabled until you actually regain merchant skills or you might have to regain skills to place a new one.

I don't expect the changes to happen anytime before Publish 11. They might sneak them in somewhere, but more than often things are delayed. So that would put it at about2-2.5 months away. The change will be on TC for a few weeks so you will have plenty of warning as to what will actually happen.

I have already prepared for it, just the same.

Not to start up the debate here, but this just stinks for my game play. I really enjoy crafting armor and gathering resources, but I also like participating in PVP and PVE activities. With this change going through I will likely have to either drop my fighting skills to the point where it will no longer be beneficial for me to go out and PVP, much less PVE for loot. Iwill also probablyjust go and make my AS entriely self sufficient rather than spend money on my guild tailor for components.

What a drag.

It is too bad, I really can't afford an ALT at this time, and that is the only option SOE is going to leave me in order to enjoy most aspects of the game.

I know there are many arguments against this, but I am just stating how I feel about the whole thing. Not trying to argue one way or another, so lets keep this thread "Armorsmith Civil"

you already have novice artisan, get 3 skill boxes in artisan/merchant and you get 1 vendor. whats the big deal ? You lost a few, we'll place evetything on one. Yeah, your burning skill points, if you don't want to do that then pay a master merchant for a vendor, that's what most people do.

- I support the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game! Plus CU haters can't figure out a level based combat system! - You can feel this way too!

I agree with ya to a large degree, but why would you craft and think of trying to be competitive in PvP?

My template:

Master Armorsmith

Teras Kasi Master

Artisan 4-0-4-3

Brawler Unarmed (obviously)

Scout 1-0-2-0

Merchant 0-0-0-1

This lets me have 3 vendors, surveying 3, decent harvesting mods (my 110 rated harvbot helps) and I can PvE rather efficiently. (The only thing I have to stay away from is NS elders or anything else with 100% kinetic resists, but you can't have it all.) I'm also working on attaining unarmed damage +25 in AAs.

This templateleaves me totally dependant upon tailors, but they're nice people, in general. They charge fair prices for components and I'd much rather be at their mercy than rangers or merchants. Usually, they'll just as soon make me a schematic for free.

We aren't ALL getting a 2nd character slot. If you are talking about the jedi revamps (9 &10) they are merely changing the way you get a 2nd slot (quest based) and your main will be your jedi (if you want your new toon to be a jedi you have to start the quests all over). I wish we were all getting 2 I would have 8 alts then hehe.
