Thread: Limit on the base resist?

I know that special resists have a cap of 80% both before and after slicing, but I haven't been an armorsmith for long and I'm wondering about what caps may exist for the base resist. In particular all the unslicedarmor I've seen has base resist of 70% or less. Is this due to a cap on the base resist of a composite armor piece, or can I exceed this amount if I use loot drop armor layers and segment enhancers? I have a few really nice layers with 11% base resist on them and I'm trying to figure out if there will be any advantage to putting more than one of them in a piece of composite armor to reach a base resist of 80% or more, or if I will hit a cap that will make that a wasteful tactic?

Crafted cap is 80%. Sliced cap is 90%. This will probably change after the Combat Rebalance.

Thanks Dova. That was what I wanted to know. I guess it would not be a good idea to put more than one really good segment in a suit of armor then, because two would almost certainly exceed 80%.
