I am going to make my second ris part, and this is the chest plate. The thing is I am not 100% happy with my first one. So to the question:
Is it possible to hit 80% base by only using a 7% cube and 5% janta hide? I am thinking of using the layerslots with 1 kin layer and 2 stun layers.

To hit 80% all stats the 'magical' number you have to add to base through components is 36%. So through a como of NS layers, Jantahide and Cubes if you hit 36% you can hit 80% all stats, and with some luck have a point (or two) left for encumbance. This is also dependent on the quality of resouces used (could cap before you get to 80% if low resouces) There are a lot of variables such as that and if the smith is 14 pt and others, but ingeneral the magic number should hit 80% for eveyrthign. You want to spend your experimentation points on Kenetic (specil protect) rahter than effectivness, much much better use since the jump per point is much better.

I made an interwoven one recently with (3) 8% Nightsister layers, 3% cube, and a really good nightsister shard and this is what happened for me....
