Thoseof you who make a lot of loot enhanced armour may start to notice that loot is drying up. Loot has been reduced severely for non-jedi - I used to go and hunt Nightsisters for three or four hour stretches, and would loot, on average, perhaps one set of layers and one set of shards each trip. Now, call me a loot whore, but I don't think this is especially obscene, not when one set of layers or shards doesn't even make enough armour to outfit one person. However, since patch 9, these numbers have been hugely reduced. I have been out Nightsister hunting on four separate trips now, and not once have I gotten layers or shards. I used to get perhaps one or two average Nightsister lances or other loot polearms per trip - most were junk, but they were a sign that something was happening, that I should keep going. In four trips I have gotten one normal vibro lance.
Four trips is perhaps not a large statistical subset. But I maintain contact with most of the bigtime loot hunters on my server, and all are complaining about reduced loot, on all types, from krayts to acklay. Except, that is, those that are jedi. Why do I mention jedi? Because jedi have a skill called Jedi Luck, which increases loot percentages. And they are looting as much as ever.
To test this, I took a trip with a jedi friend, who had +4 Jedi Luck - not sure how that adds up in the spectrum of skills. We both were out there around three hours, and probably killed about 100 Nightsisters each. My loot was: 6 clasps and one normal vibrolance. Her loot was: one set of layers, three force crystals, three lances, a couple of dozen clasps and leathers, two locked containers, and a +2 skill attachment of something fairly average. Again, perhaps not a large statistical subset. But it was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth, particularly while she was complaining as she mowed through a half dozen protectors and spell weavers solo about how gimped jedi were.
There is a rebel base near my house that I empty of its NPCs a few times a day, mostly just for the faction and to test various armour creations and food combos. I normally loot a locked container each time I empty it, and every other day or so I will get a random +1 or +2 attachment. Again, nothing incredible, nothing gamebreaking, just a few little doodads that keep the game fresh. Since patch 9, I have not looted a single locked container - my total loot in eight or nine clearings has been two normal CDEF pistols.
Now, from a personal viewpoint, I find this change rather offensive. Not because I was an uber loot hunter - I have never looted an exceptional item, and while I've gotten a few nice items, I doubt that anyone can call it gamebreaking. I consider myself a moderately casual loot hunter - it's a nice break from crafting, and while I never expect to get anything incredible, I like the occasional small reward for going out and doing the combat. To reduce my rewards to effectively zero is a bit of a slap in the face, and I imagine it is similarly a slap in the face for the thousands of casual loot hunters on the servers - it's debatable whether or not the 8-hour a day professional hunters are severely affected, or indeed whether or not they were hauling in so much loot that a reduction was warranted. (After all, if millions of krayt pearls were being looted, and were so common, why were their prices going up?) To reduce my rewards while increasing rewards for a small subset of the population (ie; jedi), particularly when that subset of the population does not contribute to the economy (they don't buy armour, they don't buy weapons, they don't buy significant resources, krayt tissues, or much else) feels likea slap in the face while laughing at me for being foolish enough to play. I don't even really know where to post something like this - it won't be read or commented on in the development forums, and I would just get flamed for being a jedi hater in the server forums. However, if a correspondent does read this, and does indeed have a way to mention something to the devs (I know a correspondent on my server, and will be mentioning it to him), then perhaps this was a good place to bring it up after all.

I have just started hunting nightsisters to help out some of my jedi friends find crystals. We usually take a group of about 5-8 and each person finds there own spawn and kills till it's tapped and moves on. I've noticed that the jedi don't loot nearly as many crystals as I do.(I swear the game knows I don't have a jedi). They seem to mainly loot layers, shards, clasps, and heavy duty leather. Not many polearms at all for any of us compared to what I could loot before the patch. We usually spend a full buff set hunting everynight.Last night for instance I looted 3 crystals in about 3 hrs. That was about as many as the rest of the group put together but they came away with much more non-jedi loot then I did. I don't know if any of them have the Force Sensitive luck or not.

11 Leather things
6 Clasps
4 Crystals (2 white, 1 yellow, 1 purple)
8 Nightsister shards -10action, -10health, -10 mind
a Lance with 505 max damage

Ive not seen any difference in drop rate from Nightsisters since publish 9
In 1 hour last night I looted
3 x lances (1 x health poison -1 uses)
1 x vibro axe
11 x identical clasps
5 x identical clasps
2 x identical clasps
5 x shards
6 x layers
3 x crystals
1 x exceptional long vibro axe
lots of credits
Perhaps your having a few bad days for loot - it happens. One day I can get almost nothing - next day in same area I fill my inventory and backpack.

No change here except for added crystals and I hunt them alot.
It depends on what you hit tho. The better loots are from Elders/protectors/spellweavers/rangers.
Initiates/slaves/outcasts don't drop as much.
Stalkers almost always lances for me.

I havent been out hunting since Pub 9, but just wanted to comment that I have never ever looted a crystal of these buggas and I have killed a Bazillion of em. Just interesting.
I hope you were just having a string of bad luck, and that things will turn around for you... because if what you say is true, yes that would really suck BIG TIME!

quite the contrary, outcast drops themost for me.. spell weavers dont drop jack..
2 days ago i looted 12 white and 1 yellow crystals however.. so yeah, they've seem to have raised the loot for jedis and decreased non-jedi loots.. about the only non-jedi loots I got were about 3 lances (standard health disease 7-133 damage) and 5 identical heavy duty clasps..
