I just recently got a GDK scale, and i want to make it into a RIS peace just in case it dissapears.

FIrst here is a picture of a RIS helmet someone made on Intrepid.

My question is what are the exact componets i need to make a chestplate like that. I want mine to be like that, all 80%. I already have the GDK scale and an Interwoven RIS schematic. I know you need a Reclusive Gurk King Hide and a Woolomander Harrower Bone Fragement, but what else do i need. What Geo cubes? What layers? what everything? I know its going to be hard to find all of those things but im very up to the challange.

to hit 80% base unsliced....

make sure it is interwoven

use a 3%+ cube

use a janta hide

and use some NS layers that are 7% or more

with 10% layers or a 10% janta hide it isnt too hard with good resources

Nah you don't even need yellow cubes or janta hide to hit 80/80

That RIS chestplate ain't that good since its vunerable to stun and acid. You're better off putting 2 stun and1 acid layer in the piece.

The real question is if you manage to make a piece of R.I.S. what the hell would you wear it into battle, given the rarity of it!

What segment enhancement adds to base and brings acid to SP? I am pretty sure there is a loot out there that does it.

Hehe i woudnt wear it outside of the house, I just want it as a show piece. Me and a frend of mine own a gallery/sculpture museum. A full suit of RIS armor seriously looks like old samurai armor, so to have that as a centerpeace would give the gallery a more historical and realistic feel.
Also i heard that one guy used 8%-9% NS layers, does taht work?

Using 2x 8% NS layers on regular RIS (segment quality experimented rest into durability) I have made 69% Base 48% Kinetic - 6 pt Quality 5 Pt Resistance experimentation... Changing experimentation to 7 into quality and 4 into resistance it came to 72% Base 44% Kinetic... Still had aprox 7-8% Left to gain towards Max Experiment % on Quality... Theorizing aprox 75-76% Base if I had maxed it... Better NS layers and/or Janta Hide would bring it closer to 80% Base...

I have acouple of silly questions. If you're just making it for looks in your museum what does the resist matter? Just make it with regular components. If you're making it to wear in battles why would you put any acid or stun layers in it as the way armor works in this game it's the amount of damage that passes through that your armor absorbs not the amount of damage it blocks. Therefore your armor would wear out in a couple of battles. Then again if you don't layer it with stun or acid then you're not very effective in battle.I hope they do something about the vulnerbility. Sorry to hijack your thread.

/whap devs

Anyways there was a post about making this 80% base 80% kinetic armor. It goes something like this. Must use a Interwovend RIS schematic. Since Kinetic is a special protection you must use a Kinetic layer experiment to max Kin resist then 7%and 8% NS layer a 4% geo cube and 6% Janta hide. The final result for the base was a 43% segment. Hope that helps.

I've always heard it was the other way around, I think somewhere in the faq it states your armor's condition takes 20% of the damage that it does not absorb... so if it is vuln, it takes 20% of all that damage that didn't get absorbed, instead of 80% getting knocked out and then 20% of what ever is left over.
