I can recommend that you grind one tree upto level 4 - Techniques IV (Armor Crafting Mastery). In that way you get a good amount of experimentation points [and a +5 armor experimentation tape would enable you to get anoter point in experimentation - from +75 to +80 (from 7 to 8 points)] to put in to your armors and therefore making them easier to sell.

I too couldn't stand the idea of mindlessly grinding out armor in practice mode just to master. You pretty much have to grind up the tech line though, otherwise you risk damaging your reputation by putting out junk.
Once you get to tech IV, you'll have seven experimentation points. I had a nest egg of a few million credits from selling my Christmas holocrons, so I found another +5 armor experimentation and had eight points to work with. I was constantly on the lookout for Ubese resources, and by the time I ground up to 3/0/0/4 I had a nice stockpile.
Here's a neat trick at this point - at 3/0/0/4 have a master armorsmith who appreciates what you're doing make you schematics for kinetic layers and advanced Ubese segments using those layers. With kinetic layered advanced Ubese segments you'll be able to craft the final armor, and open up shop a few boxes in advance.
From that point on, all I did was make Ubese. I had good resources, and was making better stuff than some of the established masters who didn't put as much effort into Ubese. This also bought me time to seek out good resources for composite armor. Unlike a lot of folks who come into armorsmithing and ground through to master, when I finished I had a few mil in the bank and was making suits that sold for 375K the second day I was a master.
People will try to tell you that you can't make any money as a non-master. Obviously I disagree. I'd say it's even easier now with wookiee armor around. Just put the same dedication into your non-master work that the master put into their work, and you'll have a saleable product. Good luck!
I didn't do the buy my segments from a master trick, but I do have better armour for cheaper that 99% of the armour that sits on the bazaar. So I feel like my market is new players who can't afford the quality Ubese and composite yet.
Anyway.. my 2 creds
