Thread: Whats the best thing to do with Krayt Scales ?

I managed to get about 16 scales from various auctions.
I was thinking of Krayt Stun Helms which I tried and all resists were over 70%(I was hoping for 80%).
This time I was thinking of either making a personal Krayt suit or making some off the wall stuff like
Wookie Krayt Black Mountain Armor or something ?
What do the more experienced AS`s use them for ?

I use them in noob armors im giving away personaly. I dont generaly find them that usefull but then i havent played with them alot either

I got a factory full of NS, Janta, and probably a few Krayt segment enhancements...really should play around with em sometime huh

They work well in Ceremonial, and probably Mountain now, also. Ubese... Generally they are good for PvE armor, but moving everything into special hurts for PvP/slicing.

Because Krayt Scales shift everything to special protection, they are of limited value unless you have a specific, niche use in mind, or unless the scales themselves are spectacular.
If the scales have certain resists that are around 6-10% (or higher), it's possible to make composite pieces that are 80% special protection to everything but stun and lightsaber. This takes a bit of work and planning, though, as you have to figure out which specific layers to use, in what quantity, and where exactly to put all your points. Basically, when I did this for a few clients, I had to make many test pieces and tweak the layers such that when I added the scale numbers, everything went to greater than or equal to 80. It's fun and rewarding, but the only slice worth getting on it is an encumberance slice.
One of the more inventive uses for scales that I've seen, though, has been to use them in Mabari Armorweave. You get AR1 to virtually everything without the hassle of encumberance. In today's game, this isn't nearly as important, but it might mean something again someday.
